ARCADIA CITY COUNCIL <br /> REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, JULY 17, 2018 <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER — Mayor Tay called the regular meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 2. INVOCATION — Rabbi Sholom Stiefel, Chabad of Arcadia <br /> 3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE — Gene Glasco, Elected City Clerk <br /> 4. ROLL CALL OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> PRESENT: Amundson, Beck, Chandler, Verlato, and Tay <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 5. REPORT FROM CITY ATTORNEY REGARDING CLOSED SESSION ITEMS <br /> City Attorney Deitsch reported that prior to the regular meeting, the City Council met in a Study <br /> Session to hear a presentation from representatives of the Santa Anita Racetrack and have a <br /> discussion with the City Council and staff relating to the proposed development of new stables in <br /> the north parking lot of Santa Anita Park (285 W. Huntington Drive); after the discussion, no <br /> action was taken or given by the City Council. <br /> City Attorney Deitsch further reported that after the Study Session, the City Council met in a <br /> Closed Session to consider the items (a) and (b) on the posted agenda under closed session <br /> regarding pending litigation and no reportable action was taken. <br /> 6. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM CITY MANAGER REGARDING AGENDA <br /> ITEMS <br /> City Manager Lazzaretto referenced the email from Bobby Bluehouse, and forwarded to the City <br /> Council, regarding Public Hearing item 9.c. <br /> 7. MOTION TO READ ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS BY TITLE ONLY AND <br /> WAIVE THE READING IN FULL <br /> A motion was made by Council Member Chandler, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Verlato to read <br /> all ordinances and resolutions by title only and waive the reading in full. <br /> 8. PRESENTATIONS <br /> a. Presentation by Los Angeles County Arboretum Staff Regarding their Fall 2018 <br /> Chinese Lantern Festival. <br /> b. Presentation by the Friends of the Arcadia Public Library of a monetary gift in the <br /> amount of$52,000 to the Arcadia Public Library. <br /> 1 07-17-2018 <br />
