5. REPORT FROM CITY ATTORNEY REGARDING CLOSED/STUDY SESSION ITEMS <br /> City Attorney Deitsch announced that prior to the regular meeting the City Council met in a Closed <br /> Session to consider the two items listed on the posted agenda under Closed Session; he indicated <br /> that no reportable action was taken; and noted that Closed Session Item a pertained to a claim <br /> pending against the City regarding a transit issue. <br /> 6. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM CITY MANAGER REGARDING AGENDA <br /> ITEMS <br /> City Manager Lazzaretto stated that there was no supplemental information. <br /> 7. MOTION TO READ ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS BY TITLE ONLY AND <br /> WAIVE THE READING IN FULL <br /> A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tern Chandler and seconded by Council Member Amundson <br /> to read all ordinances and resolutions by title only and waive the reading in full. <br /> 8. PRESENTATIONS <br /> a. Presentation of water supply condition update by Tom Love, General Manager of the <br /> Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District. <br /> b. Presentation of a $3,100 donation to the Arcadia Public Library from the Arcadia <br /> Chinese Association for the purchase of an Early Literacy Workstation TM for the Jerry <br /> Broadwell Children's Room. <br /> 9. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Kaitlyn Jeong, an Arcadia resident, appeared and introduced herself to the City Council, and <br /> indicated that she is an applicant for the Human Resources Commission. <br /> Jean Jarosz, an Arcadia resident, appeared and introduced Melissa Taylor who is a member of <br /> the San Gabriel Moms Demand Action for ending gun violence; Ms. Taylor appeared and <br /> announced a National Gun Violence Awareness Event on Saturday, June 8 at All Saints Church <br /> in Pasadena, and encouraged everyone to attend. <br /> 10. REPORTS FROM MAYOR, CITY COUNCIL AND CITY CLERK (including reports from <br /> the City Council related to meetings attended at City expense(AB 1234]). <br /> Council Member Beck thanked Ms. Jarosz and Ms. Taylor for appearing and speaking on gun <br /> violence, and provided his views on gun control; he thanked the Girls Scouts for leading the <br /> Pledge of Allegiance, and he thanked the family of Jackie Faust-Moreno and the Arcadia Chinese <br /> Association for their donations to the Library. <br /> Council Member Amundson announced that he attended the last concert for Arcadia High School <br /> Orchestra Director Tom Forbes, and wished him the best in his retirement; and indicated that he <br /> would like a resolution considered at a future meeting honoring the Chinese Americans who <br /> fought in World War II, and asked for City Council support. Mayor Pro Tern Chandler and Council <br /> Member Tay concurred. <br /> 2 06-04-2019 <br />
