Discussion will concern: Conference with legal counsel — anticipated litigation <br /> (Government Code Section 54957) Significant exposure to litigation pursuant to <br /> paragraph (2) or(3) of subdivision (d) of Section 54956.9: (1) <br /> Name of local agency representative on Joint Powers Agency Board: Mayor Pro Tern <br /> Sho Tay <br /> No reportable action was taken on the Closed Session item. <br /> The meeting ended at 7:00 p.m. <br /> REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> CALL TO ORDER— Mayor Amundson called the regular meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. <br /> INVOCATION — Reverend Terry Keenan, The Santa Anita Church <br /> PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE —Sergeant First Class Steven Swinney, United States Army <br /> Mayor Amundson presented Mr. Swinney with a 50th Anniversary Commemorative Vietnam <br /> Veterans lapel pin and proclamation. <br /> ROLL CALL OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> PRESENT: Beck, Chandler, Verlato, Tay, and Amundson <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> REPORT FROM CITY ATTORNEY REGARDING CLOSED/STUDY SESSION ITEMS <br /> City Attorney Deitsch reported that the City Council met prior to the regular meeting in a special <br /> meeting in order to conduct a study session to receive reports from staff and discuss the two <br /> items listed on the posted agenda regarding (1) the Language Access Services Policy; and (2) <br /> concerning Arcadia's position in choosing between two options in LACCE's ("Los Angeles <br /> Community Choice Energy") dba Clean Power Alliance Southern California in their negotiations <br /> with Southern California Edison for energy purchase and rates. He stated that on motion by <br /> Council Member Chandler, seconded by Council Member Verlato, the City Council unanimously <br /> directed staff to bring forward at a future open session meeting of the City Council a proposed <br /> language access services policy, and noted that the City Council provided guidance to Mayor <br /> Pro Tem Tay on the CPA. <br /> City Attorney Deitsch further reported that the City Council met in a closed session to consider <br /> the one item listed on the posted agenda; no reportable action was taken. <br /> SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM CITY MANAGER REGARDING AGENDA ITEMS <br /> City Manager Lazzaretto noted that there are two requests to speak on the City Manager items, <br /> and the Mayor would like to hear those speakers at that time. <br /> 2 03-20-2018 <br />
