FOR THE DUARTE ROAD REHABILITATION FROM SANTA ANITA <br />AVENUE TO FIFTH AVENUE AND THE MISCELLANEOUS ARTERIAL <br />IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT AS COMPLETE <br /> Recommendation: Approve <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br /> <br />On December 6, 2016, the City Council awarded a contract to Sully-Miller Contracting <br />Co., in the amount of $560,022, plus a 10% contingency, for the Duarte Road <br />Rehabilitation from Santa Anita Avenue to Fifth Avenue and the Miscellaneous Arterial <br />Improvements Project. There were five (5) change orders on the project in the amount <br />of $5,798.39, and a final adjustment for actual measured quantities that deducted <br />$33,811.24, bringing the net total change to the contract a deduction of $28,012.85. <br />The final contract amount is $532,009.15. <br /> <br />The terms and conditions of this project have been complied with, and the required work <br />has been performed to staff’s satisfaction for a final cost of $532,009.15. It is <br />recommended that the City Council accept the project as complete and authorize the <br />final payment in accordance with the contract documents. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City annually appropriates Proposition “C” funding for arterial street pavement <br />projects. For the Fiscal Year 2015-16 Capital Improvement Program, the City Council <br />appropriated funding for two projects: The Duarte Road Rehabilitation from Santa Anita <br />Avenue to Fifth Avenue, and the Arterial Streets Miscellaneous Minor Repairs projects. <br /> <br />The Duarte Road Rehabilitation project was planned for the segment from Santa Anita <br />Avenue to Fifth Avenue. The Miscellaneous Arterial Minor Repairs Project covered <br />small pavement repairs at four important intersections, as follows: <br /> <br />
