<br />ARCADIA CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, APRIL 18, 2017 <br /> <br /> <br />Pursuant to the adjournment of the April 4, 2017, Regular Meeting of the City Council, the Chief <br />Deputy City Clerk appeared at the time and place of adjournment at 6:00 p.m. and announced <br />that no quorum was present until 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER – Mayor Beck called the regular meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. <br /> <br />INVOCATION – Pastor Rodolfo Reyes, Arcadia Police Department Chaplain <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE – Michael Driebe, Methodist Hospital Foundation <br /> <br />ROLL CALL OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> <br />PRESENT: Amundson, Chandler, Tay, Verlato, and Beck <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />REPORT FROM CITY ATTORNEY REGARDING CLOSED/SESSION ITEMS <br /> <br />City Attorney Deitsch reported that there were no closed or study items. <br /> <br />SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM CITY MANAGER REGARDING AGENDA ITEMS <br /> <br />City Manager Lazzaretto stated there was no supplemental agenda information. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />a. Presentation of the Mayor’s Cup Trophy to the Recreation and Community Services <br />Department for winning First Place in overall department participation at the Santa <br />Anita Derby Day 5K Run held on April 8, 2017. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Ila Mae Harris, a Monrovia resident, appeared and shared her frustration that because she lives <br />just outside the City of Arcadia, she can no longer use the Arcadia Transit System to get to her <br />doctor appointments, pharmacy, etc., because of the new restriction that the transit system is for <br />use by Arcadia residents only. <br /> <br />Lois Merritt, an Arcadia resident, presented the City Council with a letter including a petition <br />signed by 179 adults and 35 children regarding the repairs needed to the walkways along Santa <br />Anita Avenue at Colorado Boulevard and along the railroad bridge that crosses over Colorado <br />Boulevard. <br /> <br />Gail Marshal, an Arcadia resident, appeared and expressed her frustrations that appointments <br />on the transit system are being taken up by non-residents; she indicated that no other city, but <br />Arcadia transports non-residents; and suggested to the non-Arcadia residents who spoke and <br />ride the Arcadia Transit system should go to their City Council and ask about riding their transit <br />system out of the City. <br /> <br /> <br /> 1 04-04-2017 <br /> <br />
