<br />MINUTES <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />MAY 15, 1972 <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />19:8062 <br /> <br />The City Council met in an adjourned regular session on May 15, <br />1972 at 7:30 p,m, in the City Hall Conference Room to continue <br />its review of the 1972-73 preliminary budget as submitted by the <br />City Manager. At its adjourned regular meeting of May 8 all <br />budgets through and including the Finance Department with all <br />Divisions had been considered and accepted with the understanding <br />that certain items of particular concern and interest to Council <br />will be reviewed again, <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Arth, Helms, Scott, Hage <br />Councilman Butterworth <br /> <br />Planning Department <br /> <br />Account 412 <br /> <br />Personnel Department <br /> <br />Account 415 <br /> <br />General City <br /> <br />Account 417 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Discussion indicated the <br />possibility of the need for <br />an additional employee; the <br />possible overlapping of <br />functions of the economic <br />coordinator and the Planning <br />Department personnel; the <br />training program was explained <br />by the City Manager, NO CHANGE. <br /> <br />Some of the items under 415-31 <br />explained by the City Manager <br />who also advised that the <br />results of the meetings are in <br />report form and are available, <br />Pursuant to an inquiry it was <br />noted by the City Manager that <br />the item under Luncheon MeetingS <br />for Secretaries was not con- <br />sidered as part of the salary. <br />NO CHANGE, <br /> <br />During this review reference <br />was made to the Chamber of <br />Commerce budget for the fiscal <br />year 1972-73. The Chamber has <br />not as yet submitted its budget <br />and the City Manager will check <br />this out, Under 417-32 the City <br />Manager circulated the request <br />of the Arcadia Tournament of <br />Roses for $4000 this year, Last <br />year it was for $1000, Cost of <br />utility systems explored, It <br />was suggested that consideration <br />be given to consolidation of <br />meters which could effect a <br />savings, Pursuant to an inquiry <br />the City Manager advised that <br />the City will henceforth have <br />two pool cars for city business. <br />CHANGE: The position of Assistant <br />to the City Manager will be <br />reflected in the City Manager's <br />budget and not in this Account. <br />
