Robert Arth <br /> <br />Don W. Hage <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Arth, Hag~ Helms, Butterworth <br />Councilman Considine <br /> <br />On MOTION by Councilman Arth, seconded by Councilman Helms and <br />carried unanimously, the Minutes of the Regular meeting of July 21, <br />and the Adjourned Regular meeting of July 22, 1970, were APPROVED. <br />Councilman Rage abstained from voting on the minutes as he was <br />absent on said dates. <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATIVE <br />ASSISTANT Mayor Butterworth introduced George Watts the newly appointed <br />~ administrative assistant to the City Manager. <br /> <br />HEARING <br />(Zoning) <br /> <br />1- :180 <br /> <br />CONDITIONAL <br />USE PERMIT <br />(HIGH <br />SCHOOL) <br />.f.r Jr13 tJ <br /> <br />CONDITIONAL <br />USE PERMIT, <br />RATIFIED <br /> <br />F.'~U( <br /> <br />The Planning Commission recommended certain changes in the zoning <br />and subdivision ordinances relating to Planned Unit Developments as <br />set forth in its Resolution No. 703, however, the City Attorney had <br />suggested some additional provisions and Council preferred to consider <br />the matter in its entirety. It was therefore MOVED by Councilman Arth, <br />seconded by Councilman Hage and carried unanimously that the matter be <br />placed on the agenda for August 18 (next regular meeting). Mayor <br />Butterworth advised that, during the interim, those interested in <br />obtaining details could contact the Planning Department for this <br />information. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Resolution No. 706 granting a conditional use permit, <br />subject to specified conditions, for a high school, at 501 North Santa <br />Anita Avenue. The City Clerk advised that an appeal from the action of <br />the Commission had been filed. Pursuant to Code Section 9275,2.9 a <br />public hearing was scheduled for August 18 at 7:30 P.M. Richard Schaller, <br />606 Cornell Drive, was informed that the hearing will be the first order <br />of business on that date. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Resolution No. 707 granting a conditional use permit <br />under specified conditions for the reopening and operation_of an existing <br />restaurant at 516 East Live Oak Avenue, The Planning Director explained <br />that the subject site is properly zoned in C-2; that the building will <br />be refurbished and remodeled; mechanical equipment on the roof will be <br />screened and a driveway will be modified - all set forth as' conditions <br />in said resolution. He also noted that an existing free standing sign <br />is to be removed from the public right of way. The applicant asked for <br />the deletion of this one condition however, Mayor Butterworth explained <br />that Council could not grant this request as it would be a violation of <br />the Sign Ordinance which regulates all signs, It was then MOVED by <br />Councilman Hage, seconded by Councilman Arth and carried unanimously that <br />the action of the Commission be and it is hereby RATIFIED. <br /> <br />8-4-70 <br /> <br />- 1 - <br />
