Robert Arth <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Butterworth, Hage, Helms, Arth <br />Councilman Scott <br /> <br />On MOTION by Councilman Helms, seconded by Councilman Hage and carried <br />unanimously the minutes of the regular meeting of December 18, 1973 <br />were APPROVED. <br /> <br />On behalf of Council Mayor Arth presented retiring Robert S. Seares a <br />plaque in appreciation of his efforts and many accomplishments during <br />his tenure as Police Chief. <br /> <br />The request of the City Refuse Company for an extension of rranchise for <br />refuse collection was postponed indefinitely. <br /> <br />Planning Commission recommendation concerning amendments to the R-3 <br />multiple-family zone regulations (Resolution No. 829). The Planning <br />Director explo~ed the report dated January 2, 1974 itemizing all <br />proposed text amendments (report on file in the office of the City <br />Clerk), It was noted in part that the revisions would replace all of <br />the existing R-3 zone regulations except for that relating to the plan <br />review procedure. <br /> <br />Mayor Arth declared the hearing open and no one desiring to be heard the <br />hearing was CLOSED on MOTION by Councilman Hage, seconded by Councilman <br />Helms and carried unanimously, It was then MOVED by Councilman Helms, <br />seconded by Councilman Hage and carried unanimously that the recom- <br />mendation be APPROVED and that the City Attorney be instructed to <br />prepare the appropriate ordinance. <br /> <br />This matter was continued from the regular meeting of December 18, 1973 <br />to allow for alternatives to be considered by the Planning and <br />Engineering Departments. The original request was for modification of <br />a condition of the approvmof the tract - 910 W. Foothill Boulevard. <br />Alternatives were set forth in a report dated January 2, 1974 and <br />referred to conditions which required the construction of a six foot <br />masonry wall along the southerly property line of three of the lots <br />of the tract which were adjacent to the Foothill Freeway. The sub- <br />divider asked that this requirement be eliminated. The Planning <br />Department now recommends that landscaping be provided along the <br />southerly property line adjacent to the Foothill fence with oleanders <br />of 5 gallon size spaced at 5' on the center line.
