<br />CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS ARE TAPE RECORDED AND ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK <br />20:8452~ <br />g(}Tlt4~4 <br /> <br />I"" om <br /> <br />C R A <br /> <br />ORDINANCE <br />NO. 1490 <br />ADOPTED <br /> <br />::rl ()- cr 7 <br /> <br />tL <br />PARKING <br />PLACE <br />COMMISSION <br /> <br />ENERGY CRISIS <br /> <br />I", <br /> <br />POLLUTION <br />COMMUNICATION <br /> <br />/tIvVr <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />DECEMBER 26, 1973 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Arcadia, California, met in an <br />adjourned regular aession on Wednesday, December 26, 1973 at 7:30 p.m. <br />in the Council Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Butterworth, Hage, Helms, Scott, Arth <br />None <br /> <br />The City Attorney presented for the second time, explained the content <br />and read the title of Ordinance No. 1490, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE <br />REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE CENTRAL REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT." <br /> <br />It was MOVED by Councilman Helms, seconded by Councilman Scott and <br />carried on roll call vote as follows that the reading of the full body <br />of Ordinance No. 1490 be WAIVED. <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Butterworth, Hage, Helms, Scott, Arth <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />Councilman Helms further MOVED that Ordinance No. 1490 be ADOPTED. <br />Motion seconded by Councilman Hage and carried on roll call vote as <br />follows: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Hage, Helms, Scott, Arth <br />Councilman Butterworth <br />None <br /> <br />On MOTION by Councilman Helms, seconded by Councilman Butterworth and <br />carried unanimously Dr. Dennis Lojeski, with offices at 150 N. Santa <br />Anita Avenue, was appointed to the Parking Place Commission for a term <br />to expire June 30, 1976. This will fill the vacancy created by the <br />demise of Donald S: Camphouse. <br /> <br />Mayor Arth commended the Santa Anita Race Track on its effort to assist <br />in the fuel crisis by offering incentives to patrons of the track to use <br />car pools, the buses and the like. <br /> <br />Council received material submitted by Gerald Murray concerning <br />pollution and its effect when Fashion Park becomes a reality. Mr. <br />Murray had addressed Council in this regard at the last regular <br />meeting. Included therein were statements attributed to Prof. <br />Goldsmith concerning the health hazard to residents. <br /> <br />Council discussed the matter briefly and presented their individual <br />viewpoints. It was the consensus of Council that the report prepared <br />by Ultra-Systems, Inc., be reviewed by staff; that the said company <br />be advised of the material submitted by Mr. 'Murray and that it be <br />requested to advise whether or not in its opinion there would be a <br />health hazatd.
