<br />1 <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />HEARING <br />(American <br />Savings & <br />Loan) <br />OCTOBER 2 <br /> <br />N~i <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE <br />SESSION <br /> <br />RECONVENED <br /> <br />FLOOD CONTROL <br />REVENUE <br />PROPOSAL <br />(Supported) <br /> <br />~sP <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />CITY OWNED <br />PROPERTY <br /> <br />/ <br />r : <br /> <br />l'/-.~ ') <br /> <br />23:9833 <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />ARCADIA CITY COUNCIL AND THE ARCADIA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br /> <br />ADJOURNED REGUIAR MEETING <br /> <br />AUGUST 7, 1979 <br /> <br />The City Council and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met <br />adjourned regular session on Tuesday, August 7, 1979 at 5 <br />the Arcadia City Hall Conference Room. <br /> <br />in an <br />p.m. in <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Members Gi1b, Parry, Pellegrino, Saelid, Margett <br />None <br /> <br />Disposition and Development Agreement between the Arcadia <br />Redevelopment Agency and American Savings and Loan Association for <br />property located at the northwest corner of First Avenue and <br />Huntington Drive. <br /> <br />Chairman Margett declared the hearing open and in response to an <br />inquiry by Randolph Shipley, representing Robert Donaldson advised <br />that no communications had been received concerning this matter <br />other than that from Mr. Donaldson. <br /> <br />No one else desiring to be heard it was MOVED by Member Sae1id, <br />seconded by Member Parry and carried unanimously that the hearing be <br />CONTINUED TO OCTOBER 2, 1979 at 5 p.m. <br /> <br />Member Parry asked for an executive session on pending litigation and <br />the Agency entered an executive session at 5:40 p.m. <br /> <br />At 6:20 p.m. <br /> <br />The District representative of the Los Angeles County Flood Control <br />District explained in detail the need of the District for revenue to <br />fund operations. Using charts the various activities and costs were <br />explained. A benefit assessment had been proposed to be based on <br />properties. It would run about $5.20 per 9600 sq. ft. per <br />year assessed to the property owner. Support of the proposal was <br />requested. It was MOVED by Councilman Gi1b, seconded by Councilman <br />Parry and carried on roll call vote as follows that the City Council <br />go on record as supporting the Benefit Assessment for the County of <br />Los Angeles Flood Control District. <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br /> <br />Councilmen Gi1b, Parry, Sae1id, Margett <br />Councilman Pellegrino (with the observation <br />that he would rather see the proposal presented to the <br />electorate) <br />None <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Discussion held on the three proposals in which the Council had <br />evinced interest for the purchase and development of city owned <br />land at 610-618 N. Santa Anita Avenue.... DB Associates, Fred Bowden <br />and Tom Pappas. The various developments were considered as to use <br />and purchase price.
