<br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />LAND USE <br />CONSIDERATIONS <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />23:9507 <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL AND THE ARCADIA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br /> <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />APRIL 27, 1978 <br /> <br />The City Council and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met in <br />joint session On April 27, 1978 at 4 p.m. in the Conference <br />Room of the Arcadia City Hall. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Members Gilb, Margett, Pellegrino, Saelid, Parry <br />None <br /> <br />Area on Huntington Drive between Second and Fifth Avenues. The <br />Economic Coordinator submitted four designs for this area including <br />retail, restaurant, a motel, some industrial with the existing <br />automobile agency remaining in its present location On the north <br />side of Huntington Drive. It was noted that several firms have <br />indicated a desire to locate in this area which would be ideal due <br />to its proximity to the 210 Freeway. The various designs covered <br />minimal developments broken up into several developments. It was <br />the consensus of the members that Design 1 was preferable inasmuch <br />as it would accommodate only a few facilities. In order for staff <br />to have direction it was MOVED by Member Margett, seconded by <br />Member Gilb and carried on roll call vote as follows that the <br />drawing identified as "Design One" be accepted in concept. This is tied in with the proposed acqui- <br />sition of property for the extension of Third Avenue. It was the <br />consensus that the owners be contacted to discuss the land division <br />with relation to the proposed lot division and the concept plan. <br /> <br />Area on the southeast corner of Huntington Drive and Santa Anita <br />Avenue.' It was submitted that recently there has been consideration <br />of a potential use of this location for a financial institution. A <br />drawing was reviewed illustrating some of the possible parcel <br />aggregation which would be required to meet the needs of various <br />sized facilities. Also the possibility of acquiring land on Alta <br />Street for parking purposes. Parking is critical in this particular <br />location and some discussion held on the creation of a parking <br />district. <br /> <br />In order to consider this further it was MOVED by Member Margett, <br />seconded by Member Pellegrino and carried on roll call vote as <br />follows that staff prepare and submit some detailed conceptual <br />drawings encompassing the area fro~ Santa Anita east to Second <br />Avenue and the south side of Huntington Drive to the north side of <br />Alta Street. Second Avenue.
