<br />CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS ARE TAPE RECORDED AND ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK <br />25:0402 <br /> <br />1 ROll CAll <br /> <br />HEARINGS <br />SCHEDULED <br /> <br />FOSS AV. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 1, 1981 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Arcadia met in an adjourned, regular <br />session December 1, 1981 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Conference <br />Room. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Councilmen Dring, Haltom, Pellegrino, Saelid, Gilb <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />The City Council scheduled public hearings on the following items: <br /> <br />Request for variance to permit the use of a trailer as an office <br />at 11911 Clark Street (Chicago Park area) DECEMBER 15, 1981 <br /> <br />Appeal of Planning Commission denial of the tentative map of <br />Tract No. 29290 for a two story commercial condominium at 610 <br />N. Santa Anita Avenue - DECEMBER 15, 1981. <br /> <br />Appeal of one of the conditions of approval of a conditional use <br />permit at 1032 S. Sixth Avenue - JANUARY 5, 1982. <br /> <br />The City Manager advised that the report on the petition concerning <br />public safety response for residents on Foss Avenue-will be forth- <br />coming as soon as staff hears from LAFCO, <br /> <br />The Director of Recreation reported on a lighting problem which <br />necessitated the cancellation of the adult slo-pitch softball <br />Leagues. <br /> <br />Discussion held on the resolution adopted by the City of Los Angeles <br />concerning the use of tax monies, It was the consensus that it would <br />be appropirate for the Council to take similar action. Whereupon the <br />following resolution was adopted on MOTION by Councilman Dring, second- <br />ed by Councilman Pellegrino and carried on roll call vote as follows: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> <br />That the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors be requested to take <br />immediate action to comply with the recent decision of the Los Angeles <br />County Superior Court prohibiting the County from financing municipal- <br />type services provided County unincorporated areas with tax revenues <br />received from Los Angeles County cities and to end this unequitable <br />system of taxation and not prolong it through costly court appeals paid <br />for by County taxpayers, <br /> <br />AYES <br />NOES <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Dring, Haltom, Pellegrino, Saelid, Gilb <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />Agenda items were explored and at the request of Councilman Dring one <br />of the scheduled items under Consent Items concerning race traffic con- <br />trol expenditure will be considered individually. <br /> <br />Council entered a CLOSED SESSION, r~and a~jou~e at <br />7:30p.m. ~ <br /> <br />(J Mayor - <br /> <br />~T: ~~~ <br />~ . <br /> <br />_1- 12-1-Rl <br />
