During this consideration the <br />possibility of obtaining cheshire labels was submitted and staff will <br />investigate. However, it was MOVED by Councilman Pellegrino, seconded <br />by Councilman Saelid and carried on roll call vote as follows that <br />the City grant permission to use the labels at a cost of $200 or less. <br /> <br />AYES <br />NOES <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Dring, Haltom, Pellegrino, Sae1id, Gi1b <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />Council received the request of Albert M. Soldate, President of the <br />Arcadia Rotary Club, for some financial relief in the cost of traffic <br />control by the police department for the forthcoming annual picnic- <br />concert at the County Arboretum. This is a community and charitable <br />project on the part of the Club and the Arboretum Foundation. George <br />Fasching, Chairman of the event, spoke to this and asked for consider- <br />ation. It was the consensus of the Council that they were not against <br />it in principle but felt it would set a precedent and the same would <br />have to be afforded all other organizations, noting that the Chamber <br />of Commerce recently paid for traffic control for a similar event. <br /> <br />Whereupon it was MOVED by Councilman Pellegrino, seconded by Council- <br />man Haltom and carried on roll call vote as follows that the request <br />be DENIED. <br /> <br />AYES <br />NOES <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Dring, Haltom, Pellegrino, Saelid, Gilb <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />Captain John Clarke spoke to the excellent work performed by the con- <br />tractor, Josic Kovac, in a recent project at Fire Station No. 3 -- <br />that of removal of existing A. C. parking area, excavation and prepara- <br />tion of subgrade, construction of parking area, construction of con- <br />crete block storage area and appurtenant work. Council joined in the <br />commendation. <br /> <br />Police Chief Mitchell explained how the police dog program ~s progress- <br />ing ... very satisfactorily. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br />8-18-81 <br />
