<br />CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS ARE TAPE RECORDED ~~D ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF <br />ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />MINUTE <br />APPROVAL <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />25:0340 <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br />and the <br />ARCADIA REDEVELOP:lliNT AGENCY <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />AUGUST 4, 1981 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Arcadia and the Redevelopment <br />Agency met in a regular session August 4, 1981 at 7:30 p.m. in <br />the City Hall Council Chamber. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT : <br /> <br />Councilmen Dring, Haltom, Pellegrino, Saelid, Gilb <br />None <br /> <br />Mrs. Mildred Free, First Church of Christ Scientist <br /> <br />City Clerk Christine Van Maanen <br /> <br />On MOTION by Councilman Saelid, seconded by Councilman Pellegrino and <br />carried the minutes of the adjourned and regular meetings of July 21 <br />were APPROVED. <br /> <br />SAFETY AHARDS <br /> <br />Wayne Cannad~'Mayor Gilb announced the presentation of safety awards for 1980-81. <br />and Steve Larson, Personnel Director, explained in detail that the program <br />John Machan was established to promote safety consciousness among employees in or- <br />der to provide a safer working environment to decrease industrial in- <br />juries. The Department of Public Works is the winner of the 1980-81 <br />award and Personnel Board Chairman Joe Earll made presentations to Wayne <br />Kennedy and John Mochan of the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />HEARING <br />Text <br />Amendment <br />APPROVED <br />(Banners) <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />HEARING <br />TRACT NO. <br />42497 <br />Tentative <br />Map Approved <br />- (' a 7) \1 <br />;/~ ~v <br /> <br />Planning Commission Resolution No. 1168 recommending a text amendment <br />adding regulations for temporary banners in commercial and industrial <br />zones. Staff advised that one temporary banner not exceeding 32 sq. ft. <br />be allowed for each business for a maximum of 30 days per year with an <br />additional 30 days per year for banners advertising non-profit organiza- <br />tions and events. <br /> <br />Mayor Gilb declared the haring open and no one desiring to be heard the <br />hearing was CLOSED on MOTION by Councilman Saelid, seconded by Council- <br />mand Dring and carried unanimously. It was then MOVED by Councilman <br />Dring, seconded by Councilman Haltom and carried on roll call vote as <br />follows that the Negative Declaration be approved and filed and find that <br />the project will not have a significant effect on the environment and <br />that the text amendment be APPROVED. Mayor Gilb declared the hearing open and the appli- <br />cant was acknowledged.
