It was MOVED by <br />Councilman Dring, seconded by Councilman Haltom and carried on <br />roll call vote as follows that the following minute resolution be <br />adopted: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED: that the City Council of the City of Arcadia hereby <br />opposes Senate Bill Nos. 799 and 999 relating to fireworks. <br /> <br />AYES <br />NOES <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Dring, Haltom, Pellegrino, Saelid, Gilb <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />Council will discuss this on August 11 at 7 p.m., after which it is <br />scheduled to meet with the Planning Commission concerning zoning. <br /> <br />Council was reminded of the forthcoming joint meeting with the School <br />Board on September 10 in the Conference Room. <br /> <br />Council was also reminded of the League of California Cities Confer- <br />ence to be held in San Francisco October 17 to 20. Staff asked those <br />who will be attending to so notify the Office of the City Manager in <br />order to make reservations. <br /> <br />Council also received a report from the Finance Director relating to <br />revenues and expenditures of race tracks. <br /> <br />The compliance examination report prepared by the independent auditors, <br />Lance, SolI & Lunghard was recei'ved. <br /> <br />Staff advised that a contact has been made with Ed Jenkins who has been <br />representing those who would like to annex to the City (County territory <br />to the southwest). Mr. Jenkins advised tht he will be holding a town <br />meeting and will at that time ascertain those who desire to be on the <br />committee. <br /> <br />The Director of Public Works reported that notification had been re- <br />ceived from the County Sanitation District (Nos. 15 and 22) that they <br />would consider the adoption of an ordinance during August relating to <br />additional connection charges to be used for maintenance and operation <br />of the system.
