<br />CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS ARE TAPE RECORDED AND ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK <br /> <br />I ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> <br />SANITATION <br />DISTRICT <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />PATROL <br />WAGONS j <br />REPORT <br /> <br />CALIFORNIA <br />STREET TO <br />REMAIN <br />CLOSED <br /> <br />WATER <br />RATES <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />25 :0260 <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br />and the <br />ARCADIA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 13, 1981 <br /> <br />The City Council and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met in an adjour- <br />ned session on April 13, 1981 at 7 p.m. in the Arcadia City Hall Confer- <br />ence Room. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT : <br /> <br />Councilmen Dring, Gilb, Haltom, Saelid, Pellegrino <br />None <br /> <br />Staff submitted a communication from Azusa concerning the proposed <br />fees and service charges being considered by the Los Angeles County <br />Sanitation District. The City Council of Azusa went on record as op- <br />posing the imposition of such fees without a vote of the people. <br /> <br />Councilman Saelid said in part that he felt the people would support <br />the imposition without a vote and it was MOVED by Councilman Gilb, <br />seconded by Councilman Saelid and carried on roll call vote as follows <br />that the District proposal be supported. <br /> <br />AYES <br />NOES <br /> <br />Councilmen Gilb, Haltom, Saelid <br />Councilmen Dring, Pellegrino <br /> <br />Council received statistics covering the operation of the Police <br />Patrol Wagons since the program began (November 1980). It was noted <br />therein that there is a fuel savings and more officers are available <br />for cases. <br /> <br />In order to act on the following matter the prOV1S1ons of the Procedural <br />Ordinance were waived on MOTION by Councilman Gilb, seconded by Council- <br />man Saelid and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />On MOTION by Councilman Gilb, seconded by Councilman Dring and carried <br />on roll call vote as follows the request of the Superintendent of <br />Schools that California Street remain closed until the end of the present <br />school year was APPROVED. <br /> <br />AYES <br />NOES <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Dring, Gilb, Haltom, Saelid, Pellegrino <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />The Water Manager reported on proposed water rate increases and explain- <br />ed Plans A and B (report on file). A revised report will be prepared <br />based on changes. Considerable discussion ensued on capital projects as <br />reflected in tte Five-Year Capital Program.
