J <br /> <br />~ r;/, r;- <br />,""v- <br /> <br />7:}?<) <br /> <br />Jiln"'~ <br />, . .'Ji400 <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />MAY 26, 1958 <br /> <br />Pursuant to the order of adjournment of the regular meeting of <br />the City Council of May 20, 1958, the City Council of the City of <br />Arcadia met in regular adjourned session in the Council Chamber of <br />the City Hall at 7:00 P.M. May 26, 1958. <br /> <br />PRESENT : <br />ABSENT : <br /> <br />Councilmen Balser, Camphouse, Jacobi, Reibold, Phillips <br />None <br /> <br />Upon advice from the City Attorney Councilman Reibold moved that <br />a hearing on the budget for the fiscal year 1958-59 be set for <br />June 17, 1958 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. and that the City Clerk be <br />instructed to give notice accordingly. Motion seconded by <br />Councilman Jacobi and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The City Attorney presented, discussed and read for the second <br />time the title of Ordinance No. 1016, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING <br />FOR THE LICENSING OF DOGS AND FOR THE REGULATION AND IMPOUNDING <br />OF DOGS AND OTHER ANIMALS, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES NOS. 600, <br />662, 934 AND 957." <br /> <br />A general discussion ensued wherein it was determined that by <br />contracting with the County of Los Angeles to perform all <br />servLces necessary in connection with the licensing, regulation, <br />impounding, etc. of dogs and other animals a better service, <br />both health-wise and effiCiency-wise could be rendered the <br />residents of Arcadia. <br /> <br />Councilman Jacobi moved that the reading of the full body of <br />Ordinance No. 1016 be waived. Said motlon seconded by Councilman <br />Balser and carried on roll call vote as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen ~alser, Camphouse, Jacobi, Reibold, PhllllpS <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Motion by CouncLlman JacobL, seconded by CouncLlman Balser and <br />carrled on roll call vote as follows that OrdLnance No. 1016 be <br />adopted: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Balser, Camphouse, Jacobi, ReLbold, PhllllpS <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Councllman Camphouse then moved that the CouncLl authorLze the <br />City Manager to tender a notice of termination to the San Gabriel <br />Valley Humane Society of the contract between them and the City <br />of Arcadia covering their services to the City in connection with <br />the impounding of dogs and other animals. Said motion seconded <br />by Councilman Reibold and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilman Balser moved that the Council authorize the Mayor and <br />City Clerk to execute a contract between the City and the <br />County of Los Angeles in form approved by the City Attorney; <br />said contract to become effective July 1, 1958 and to cover <br />largely the provisions contained in Ordinance No. 1016.
