Thatcher Jordan, Minister of <br />the Church of The Good Shepherd. <br /> <br />PRESENT : <br />ABSENT : <br /> <br />Councilmen Balser, Camphouse, Jacobi, Reibo1d, Phillips <br />None <br /> <br />Councilman Reibo1d moved that the minutes of the Adjourned <br />Regular Meeting of April 29, 1958 and the Regular Meeting of <br />May 6, 1958 be approved as submitted in writing. Councilman <br />Balser seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Phillips announced that the two items on the pending agenda, <br />namely, the Margolin Hearing and the Ferron Hearing, which had <br />been taken under advisement at the Council Meeting of May 6, 1958, <br />would not be taken up at this meeting and instructed the City <br />Clerk to hold these two matters on the pending agenda. <br /> <br />Mayor Phillips declared the hearing open on the request of Walter <br />A. Schrader, 151 Genoa Street, for a permit to conduct door to <br />door solicitation of E1ectro1ux products, and inquired if anyone <br />in the audience desired to be heard in favor of or in opposition <br />to the said application. <br /> <br />The applicant, Walter A. Schrader, addressed the Council, stating <br />that he had nothing to add to the information contained in his <br />application; that he has lived in Arcadia for approximately 40 , <br />years and has been selling E1ectro1ux products for about 25 years. <br /> <br />Councilman Jacobi moved that the hearing be closed, which motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Balser and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilman Jacobi moved that the Council approve the request of <br />Walter A. Schrader and that a permit be granted him to solicit <br />house to house for E1ectro1ux products. Councilman Reibo1d <br />seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The City Attorney presented, discussed and read for the second <br />time the title of Ordinance No. 1014, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF <br />TIlE CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, RECLASSIFY- <br />ING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY ON TIlE SOUTH SIDE OF HUNTINGTON <br />BOULEVARD IN SAID CITY AND ESTABLISHING TIlE SAME IN ZONE C-O AND <br />ZONE D." <br /> <br />Councilman Balser moved that the reading of the full body of <br />Ordinance No. 1014 be waived, which motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Jacobi and carried on roll call vote as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Balser, Camphouse, Jacobi, Reibo1d and Phillips <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Councilman Balser further moved that Ordinance No. 1014 be <br />adopted.
