O~822 <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />C< <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />DECEMBER 15, 1959 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Arcadia, California, met in regular <br />session in the Council Chamber of the City Hall at 8:00 o'clock P.M., <br />December 15, 1959. <br /> <br />The Invocation was offered by the Rev. Robert Gi+more, Assistant Pastor <br />of the Arcadia Friends Church. <br /> <br />Mayor Reibold led in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />PRESENT : <br />ABSENT : <br /> <br />Councilmen Balser, Camphouse, Jacobi, ~hillips, Reibold <br />None <br /> <br />Mayor Reibold introduced to the audience the new City Manager, <br />Mr. Harold K. Schone. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Jacobi, seconded by Councilman Phillips and carried <br />unanimously that the minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 1, 1959, <br />as submitted in writing be approved. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman'Phillips, seconded by Councilman Jacobi and carried <br />unanimously that the City Engineer be ordered to prepare a report pursuant <br />to Section 17660 of the Streets and Highways Co4e and a map of plat pursuant <br />to Section 18661 of the Streets and Highways Code concerning the proposed <br />lNDE~ighting Maintenance District No. 14. <br />}0' <br />IIEARING Mayor Reibold declared the hearing open on Planning Commission Resolution <br />(Seidner) No. 349, recommending granting of application of Saul G. Seidner and Nettie <br />Seidner for the reclassification from Zone R-l to Zone C-2 and Zone D of <br />certain property located at 2728 South Baldwin Avenue. <br /> <br />LIGHTING <br />MAINTENANCE <br />DISTRICT <br />NO. 14 <br /> <br />There being no written communications received regarding the matter, <br />Mayor Reibold inquired if anyone desired to address the Council either <br />in favor of or in opposition to the requested reclassification. <br /> <br />JHDEX~D No one desiring to be heard Councilman Phillips moved that the hearing be <br />.. closed. Councilman Camphouse seconded the motion and it was carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />~ <br />\ <br />\;; <br />~ <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />'-. <br /> <br />Councilman Phillips commented that he would have approved this particular <br />parcel had it been included in the application of Bernard Berk and Ralph <br />D. Stogsdill for a change of zone on property near the southeast corner of <br />Las Tunas Drive and Baldwin Avenue approved by the Council on September 15, <br />1959. He thereupon moved that Council accept the recommendation of the <br />Planning Commission as stated in its Resolution No, 349, and grant <br />approval to Saul G. Seidner and Nettie Seidner for the reclassification <br />from Zone R-l to Zone C-2 and D of their property located at 2728 South <br />Baldwin Avenue. Councilman Jacobi seconded the motion. <br /> <br />A general discussion ensued, and it was Councilman Balser's opinion that <br />to rezone this particular corner C-2 would not be in the best interests <br />of the City, inasmuch as it would remove the buffer zone there at this <br />time; that although the property adjacent on the east and across Workman <br />Avenue to the south is still zoned R-l, the reclassification of the subject <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />12-15-59 <br />
