<br />I <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br /> <br />PLEDGE <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />(10-6-59) <br /> <br />HEARING <br />(Annexation <br />No. 19, <br />South <br />Arcadia <br />Uninhabited <br />Revised) <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />INDEXED <br /> <br />ht~t <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />Lf77~ <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING <br /> <br />OCTOBER 22, 1959 <br /> <br />Pursuant to the order of adjournment of the regular meeting of the City <br />Council of October 20, 1959, and notice thereof having been duly given, <br />as required by law, the City Council of the City of ,Arcadia met in <br />regular adjourned session in the Council Chamber of the City Hall at <br />8:00 o'clock P.M., October 22, 1959. <br /> <br />The Invocation was offered by Rev. Richard Martin, Associate Pastor of <br />the Arcadia Church of Christ. <br /> <br />Mayor Reibold led in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />PRESENT : <br />ABSENT : <br /> <br />Councilmen Camphouse, Jacobi, Ph~llips, Reibold <br />Councilman Balser <br /> <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of October 6, 1959 were not presented <br />for approval. <br /> <br />c <br />/ <br /> <br />Mayor Reibo1d declared the hearing open on Annexation No. 19, South <br />Arcadia Uninhabited (Revised). <br /> <br />The City Clerk advised that one written protest had been received from <br />Wolford, Johnson & Pike, Attorneys at Law, on behalf of Andrew A. and <br />Mary panichas with respect to Lot No. 5 of Tract No. 10898, generally <br />known as 10936 East Live Oak Avenue, Temple City; that the assessed <br />valuation of said property is $3600.00 for the land and $2590.00 for <br />the improvements, a total of $6190.00. <br /> <br />Mayor Reibold asked if anyone in the audience owning property in the <br />subject proposed annexation desired to protest or to be heard. No one <br />responding Councilman camphouse moved that the hearing be closed; <br />motion seconded by Councilman Jacobi and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The City Attorney stated that the total assessed valuation of the land <br />and improvements within the territory heretofore designated as <br />Annexation No. 19, South Arcadia Uninhabited (Revised) is $1,057,865.00 <br />according to the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Los <br />Angeles; that written protests by the owners of one half of such <br />amount would be required in order that a majority protest be made to <br />the proceedings. <br /> <br />Councilman Camphouse stated that inasmuch as but one protest has been <br />heretofore filed, and the time to file same has expired, that he moved <br />that the following minute order be adopted: <br /> <br />"RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Arcadia, <br />does hereby find and determine that the total assessed <br />valuation of land and improvements within Annexation No. 19, <br />South Arcadia Uninhabited (Revised) is $1,057,865.00; that <br />but one protest in writing was filed with the City Clerk prior <br />to the time fixed by Resolution No. 3166, to wit: a protest <br />on behalf of Andrew A. and Mary panichas with respect to Lot <br />5, Tract 10898, generally known as 10936 East Live Oak Avenue, <br />Temple City, California, the assessed valuation of which is <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />10-22-59 <br />
