<br />, <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br /> <br />PLEDGE <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />(9-1- 59 and <br />9-15-59) <br /> <br />I HEARING <br /> <br />(Woodruff) <br /> <br />~~\\ <br /> <br />J17to <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />OCTOBER 6, 1959 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Arcadia, California, met in regular <br />session in the Council Chamber of the City Hall at 8:00 o'clock P.M., <br />October 6, 1959. <br /> <br />The Invocation was offered by Rev. Willard Dorsey, Pastor of the <br />Arcadia Christian Church, <br /> <br />Mayor Reibold led in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />PRESENT : <br />ABSENT : <br /> <br />Councilmen Balser, Camphouse, Jacobi, Reibold <br />Councilman Phillips <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Camphouse that the minutes of the regular meetings <br />of September 1, 1959 and September 15, 1959, as submitted in writing, be <br />approved. <br /> <br />Mrs, Charlotte E. Chapps, 334 East Huntington Drive, Arcadia, addressed <br />the Council, requesting permission to speak prior to the final approval <br />of the minutes of September 15, 1959, stating in part that she felt the <br />Arcadia Tribune newspaper had not accurately published certain contents <br />of the minutes and that a clarification should be made. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Council that if the Council minutes are correct, <br />the Council cannot be responsible for their interpretation by any news- <br />paper or individual, and that the said minutes as submitted should be <br />given approval at this time. <br /> <br />Whereupon Councilman Balser seconded the motion, which was carried on <br />roll call vote as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Balser, Camphouse, Reibold <br />NOES: None <br />ABSTAINED: Councilman Jacobi <br />ABSENT: Councilman Phillips <br /> <br />Mayor Reibold informed Mrs. Chapps that she would be heard on the subject <br />following the scheduled four Hearings, which are called for 8:00 o'clock <br />P.M. <br /> <br />Mayor Reibold announced: "The hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. having arrived, <br />this is the time and place for hearing protests or objections against <br />the assessment for improvement of Woodruff Avenue and Woodruff Place." <br /> <br />In answer to Mayor Reibold's query, the City Clerk stated that she had <br />the following affidavits relative to this hearing and presented them to <br />the Council: Affidavit of Publication, Affidavit of Posting and Affidavit <br />of Mailing. <br /> <br />INDEXED Motion by Councilman Balser, seconded by Councilman Camphouse and carried <br />unanimously that the above referred to affidavits be received and filed. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />10-6-59 <br />
