Clair A. Wiederhoff, Pastor of the <br />Our Savior Lutheran Church. <br /> <br />Mayor Reibold led in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />PRESENT : <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Balser, Camphouse, Jacobi, Phillips, Reibold <br />None <br /> <br />Councilman Phillips moved that the minutes of the regular meeting of <br />August 4, 1959 and the regular adjourned meeting of August 11, 1959, as <br />submitted in writing, be approved. Motion seconded by Councilman Jacobi <br />and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Reibold welcomed the presence at the Council table of Mr. Edward F. <br />Stout, as a member of the Liaison Committee between the Planning <br />Commission and the Council, and also a visitor, Mr. Lawrence W. Larson, <br />the City's Controller. <br /> <br />Mayor Reibold stated that regarding the pending agenda, items 1, 2 and <br />3 would be held, and that items 4 and 5 would now be handled. <br /> <br />Item 4 - re Personnel Board recommendation regarding the Beneficial <br />Suggestion Program: Councilman Jacobi moved that this matter be <br />referred to the Staff and the Employees Association for further study. <br />Councilman Camphouse seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Item 5 - re Bonelli Plan re-apportioning the State Senate: Councilman <br />Balser stated that he felt this was a good plan due to the large and <br />growing population in the southern area of California and moved that the <br />City Manager be instructed to convey the thoughts of the Council in this <br />regard to Mr. Frank Bonelli. Martin and Charles V. O'Brien of Susan's of Hollywood for a <br />business permit to solicit door to door, between the hours of 10:00 A.M. <br />to 3:00 P.M., Mondays through Fridays (no evening calls) during the month <br />of October, 1959, for orders 'to photograph children, subject to all <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />8-18- 59 <br />
