<br />1 ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> <br />SPECIAL <br />ELECTION <br />l7-A <br />SOUTHWEST <br />ARCADIA <br />INHABITED <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />No. 3114 <br /> <br />~n: 'i <br /> <br />:45~O <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />MARCH 31, 1959 <br /> <br />Pursu~~t to the order of adjournment of the regular meeting of the <br />Cit: Council of March 17, 1959, the City Council of the City of <br />Arcadia met in regular adjourned session in the Council Chamber of the <br />City Hall at 7:30 P.M., March 31, 1959.' <br /> <br />PRESENT : <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Balser, Camphouse, Jacobi, Reibold, Phillips <br />None <br /> <br />The City Clerk announced that she had tabulated the returns of the <br />March 24, 1959 election to determine whether or not certain territory, <br />known as No. l7-A Southwest Arcadia Inhabited, shall be annexed to the <br />City of Arcadia, and appointed the following Board to canvass the <br />results of said election, including the absent voter's ballots: Mayor <br />Phillips as Inspector, Councilmen Jacobi and Balser as Clerks and <br />Councilmen Camphouse and Reibold as Judges. She then proceeded to <br />canvass the returns of the said election, and the absentee ballots, in <br />accordance with the requirements of the Elections Code. <br /> <br />After the canvass of the results submitted by the Election Precinct <br />Officials of the Special Election held March 24, 1959, and a count <br />of the absentee votes, the City Clerk declared the results of the <br />election as follows: <br /> <br />Precinct No, Yes No Total Votes Cast <br />1 98 37 135 <br />2 65 94 159 <br />Absent Voter's <br />Ballots 3 5 8 <br />Total Votes 166 136 302 <br /> <br />The City Clerk then declared the vote complete and official and stated <br />that che City Council of the City of Arcadia, at a regular adjourned <br />meeting of March 31, 1959, has duly and regularly canvassed the returns <br />of the Special Election held in the City of Arcadia March 24, 1959, and <br />has declared the results of said election; that the total votes cast at <br />said election, including absentee ballots for and against said annexation <br />was 302, of which 166 votes, including absentee ballots,were cast in <br />favor of Annexation No, l7-A, Southwest Arcadia Inhabited, and 136, <br />including absentee ballots, were cast against said annexation. <br /> <br />The City Attorney thereupon read in its entirety Resolution No. 3114, <br />entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, <br />CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD MARCH <br />24, 1959, PERTAINING TO THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF ARCADIA OF <br />ANNEXATION NO. l7-A, SOUTHWEST ARCADIA INHABITED.", <br /> <br />Councilman Jacobi moved that Resolution No. 3114 be adopted.
