<br />1 <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br /> <br />PLEDGE <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />PENDING <br />AGENDA <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />VEHICLE <br />PARKING <br />DISTRICT <br />No. 1 <br />(Bids) <br />-:rrJ,\ <br /> <br />(;,455 <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 18, 1958 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Arcadia, California, met in regular <br />~ession in the Council Chamber of the City Hall at 8:00 o'clock P,M. <br />November 18, 1958. <br /> <br />The Invocation was offered by Councilman Jacobi. <br /> <br />Mayor Phillips led in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Balser, Camphouse, Jacobi, Phillips <br />Councilman Reibold <br /> <br />Councilman Balser moved that the minutes of the regular Council <br />meeting of October 21, 1958, as submitted in writing, be approved, <br />Councilman Camphouse seconded the motion and it was carried <br />unanimously, <br /> <br />Councilman Balser moved that the minutes of the regular meeting <br />of November 5, 1958, as submitted in writing, be amended by <br />correcting page 11, second paragraph, line 5, under the caption <br />of "(Duarte Road-LeRoy Anderson)" to read "36 feet between curbs" <br />instead of "56 feet between curbs" and as thus corrected that <br />said minutes be approved. Councilman Camphouse seconded the <br />motion and it was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilman Balser then moved that the minutes of November 5, 1958 <br />be accepted as amended, Councilman Camphouse seconded the motion <br />and it was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Phillips stated that on the items pending the Staff has not <br />yet made their report on item 1 (rezoning of Duarte Road between <br />Holly Avenue and the commercial zone near Baldwin Avenue from <br />~-l and R-3); that item 2, regarding the matter of combining OASDI <br />with SERS would be taken up later in the evening. <br /> <br />The Mayor announced: <br /> <br />"This being the time and place fixed for the opening of bids for <br />$30,571.37 of bonds to be issued to represent unpaid assessments <br />levied upon lands within Vehicle Parking District No.1, the <br />following bids received pursuant to the notice inviting bids <br />will be publicly opened, examined and read: <br /> <br />Name of Bidder <br />Pasadena Corporation <br />Victor Clifford Hunt <br />First California Company <br />Taylor and Company <br /> <br />Interest <br />Rate <br />5-l'7. <br />5~'7. <br />5% <br />4.85% <br /> <br />Premium <br />if Tie <br />($125,00) <br />($227.00) <br />( $56.00) <br />( $39.00)" <br /> <br />Each bid was accompanied by a good faith check in an amount <br />not less than 3% of the principal amount of the bonds to be <br />issued.
