<br />I <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF <br />ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />APPROVAL <br />OF MINUTES <br />(6- 21- 60) <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br />OF PLAQUES <br />(Meehan & <br />Bonham) <br /> <br />HEARING <br />(Hough) <br /> <br />5h&'s <br /> <br />-Yi.oE:)("'~ <br />-~ <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sae./I <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />JULY 5, 1960 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Arcadia met in regular session in the <br />Council Chamber of the City Hall at 8:00 o'clock P.M., July 5, 1960. <br /> <br />The Invocation was offered by Councilman Reibold. <br /> <br />Mayor Camphouse led in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Balser, Butterworth, Reibold, Camphouse <br />Councilman Phillips <br /> <br />Councilman Reibold moved that the minutes of the Regular Meeting of <br />June 21, 1960, as submitted in wri'ting, be approve'd. Councilman Balser <br />seconded the motion which was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Camphouse presented plaques to Mrs. John P. Meehan, Jr. and Mr. <br />L. D. Bonham, acknowledging the City's recognition of their services <br />while members of the Health and Sanitation Board and Personnel Board <br />respectively. Both Mrs. Meehan and Mr. Bonham accepted the plaques <br />and expressed their appreciation. <br /> <br />Hearing continued from regular council meeting of June 21, 1960 of <br />application of Gordon E. Hough, 1009 South 5th Street, Alhambra, for a <br />business permit to conduct the Hough Patrol Service, upon the recommen- <br />dation of the City Manager that the permit not be granted at that time <br />pending additional information to be secured by the staff. <br /> <br />Mayor camphouse declared the hearing reopened and inquired if anyone in <br />the audience desired to address the Council regarding the matter. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported that it is the recommendation of the staff that <br />the business permit as requested be granted under the following <br />conditions: <br /> <br />1. That Mr. Hough advise the Chief of Police in writing of any extension <br />of patrol services other than those he now has at Eaton's Restaurant. <br /> <br />2. That Mr. Hough furnish the Chief of Police with the names, addresses, <br />~ and other pertinent or necessary information regarding the people <br />he has working in locations in Arcadia, this information also to be <br />in writing. <br /> <br />3. That the Chief of Police have the authority to reject any employee who <br />is not acceptable to the Police Department. <br /> <br />No one else desiring to be heard Councilman Reibold moved that the hearing <br />be closed. Councilman Butterworth seconded the motion which was carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilman Reibold further moved that Council accept the recommendation <br />of the staff as presented by the City Manager and that a business permit <br />be granted to Gordon E. Hough, 1009 South 5th Street, Alhambra, for a <br />business permit to conduct the Hough Patrol Service in accordance with <br />the recommendations outlined above.
