<br /> <br />INVOCATION <br /> <br />PLEDGE <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />(3-15-60) <br /> <br />HEARING <br />(Caler) <br /> <br />4cJ/~ <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />APRIL 5, 1960 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Arcadia, California, met in regular <br />session'in the Council Chamber of the City Hall at 8;00 o'clock P.M., <br />April 5, 1960. <br /> <br />The Invocation was offered by the Rev. George Walters, Associate Pastor, <br />of the Church of the Good Shepherd. <br /> <br />Mayor Reibo1d led in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />PRESENT ; <br />ABSENT ; <br /> <br />Councilmen Balser, Camphouse, Jacobi, Phillips, Reibo1d <br />None <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Phillips, seconded by Councilman Jacobi and carried <br />unanimously that the minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 15, 1960, <br />as submitted in writing, be approved. <br /> <br />Continued hearing on Planning Commission Resolution No. 359, recommending <br />denial of the application of Paul B. Caler and others for a change of zone <br />from R-3 to C-3 on property located on the north side of Duarte Road from <br />Nos. 745 to 917 West Duarte Road. <br /> <br />Mayor Reibo1d commented that he was under the impression that it was <br />lp Council's intention to hold this matter over until after the election on <br />Avlo:7 the referendum on the West Arcadia zoning matter. <br /> <br />~ ~1-<1>? Whereupon Councilman Jacobi moved that the hearing be closed. Motion <br />~~? seconded by Councilman Phillips and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilman Balser moved that Council's decision on Planning Commission <br />Resolution No. 359 recommending denial of the application of Paul B. <br />Caler and others for a change of zOne from R-3 to C-3 on property <br />located on the north side of Duarte Road from Nos. 745 to 917 West Duarte <br />Road be deferred to May 3, 1960. Councilman Camphouse seconded the motion <br />and it was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />HEARING <br />(Bard) <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Reibo1d declared the hearing open on the application of the Bard <br />Distributing Company, 2329 West Pico Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, <br />for a business permit to allow the installation and operation of one <br />additional skill game at the Santa Anita Bowling Courts, 188 West Las <br />Tunas Drive, and inquired if anyone desired to speak in opposition or in <br />favor of the application. <br /> <br />No one desiring to be heard, Councilman Balser moved that the hearing be <br />.~ closed. Councilman Camphouse seconded the motion and it was carried <br />~~ unanimously. <br /> <br />1~ Councilman Balser commented that at the time Council granted applicant's <br /><\>? original request for four amusement games at the Santa Anita Bowling <br />~<i>~ Courts they doubted that there was sufficient space for these four skill <br />~~ games, and that he moved that the request of the Bard Distributing Company <br />for a business permit to allow the installation and operation of one <br />additional skill game at the Santa Anita Bowling Courts at 188 West Las <br />Tunas Drive be denied.
