Wm. H. Clayton, Pastor of the <br />Community Foursquare Church has requested permission to present to the <br />Council an oral application for permission to erect a tent and conduct <br />a series of meetings beginning February 28 through March 13, 1960 on <br />privately owned property at the northwest corner of Las Tunas Drive and <br />Santa Anita Avenue, commonly known as the Margolin property. He added <br />that Rev. Clayton had been denied permission by the Council at the last <br />Council meeting of February 16, 1960, to use city~owned property at <br />Duarte Road and Santa Anita Avenue for this same purpose. <br /> <br />Rev. Clayton, being present, addressed the Council, and in answer to <br />their questions, stated that he was familiar with all requirements of <br />the Building Department as to sanitary facilities, fire regulations, <br />electrical wiring, etc. and that he would abide by such requirements. <br /> <br />Councilman Balser moved that Council approve the request of Rev. Wm. H. <br />Clayton, Pastor of the Community Foursquare Church and authorize his use <br />of the property at the northwest corner of Las Tunas Drive and Santa <br />Anita Avenue for the purpose of erecting a tent thereon and conducting <br />a series of meetings, beginning February 28 through March 13, 1960 <br />upon compliance with all conditions and requirements as outlined in a <br />memorandum from Mr. L. W. Larson, City Manager pro tempore, to the City <br />Manager, dated February 23, 1960. Motion seconded by Councilman Jacobi <br />and carried on roll call vote as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Balser, Camphouse, Jacobi, Phillips, Reibold <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />The City Attorney presented, explained the content and read the title of <br />Resolution No. 3221, entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE POLLING PLACES FOR A <br />GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 12TH DAY OF <br />APRIL, 1960, APPOINTING THE ELECTION OFFICERS FOR SUCH ELECTION AND <br />FIXING THEIR COMPENSATION. <br /> <br />j <br /> <br />V Motion by Councilman Phillips, seconded by Councilman <br />1_ \ carried on roll call vote as follows that the reading <br />~ of Resolution No. 3221 be waived: <br /> <br />Jacobi and <br />of the full body <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Balser, Camphouse, Jacobi, Phillips, Reibo1d <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />2- 23- 60 <br /> <br />4'~ q, <br />
