<br />I <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />1962-63 BUDGET <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />14:5690 <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />MAY 29, 1962 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Arcadia met in special session in the <br />Council Chamber of the City Hall a~ 7:15 P.M., May 29, 1962, for the <br />purpose of discussing, deliberating, receiving evidence, testimony and <br />advice, making determinations and taking action concerning the proposed <br />1962-1963 fiscal budget, said specific purposes being set forth in the <br />Notice calling said special meeting. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Councilmen'Balser, Phillips, Reibold, Turner <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Phillips recited the purposes of the Special meeting, <br />said purposes being as set forth above. <br /> <br />Mayor Butterworth joined the Council Meeting at 7:28 P.M. <br /> <br />The Budget for the fiscal year 1962-63 as prepared and presented by <br />the City Manager was discussed, commencing with "Summary by Funds", <br />page 1, through page 5, and continuing with "Revenues" from page 6 to <br />page 7. <br /> <br />Departmental budgets were then reviewed item by item. <br /> <br />The City Manager explained in detail his reasons for recommending the <br />employment for approximately two months during the summer of 1962 of <br />an Administrative Interne to work directly under his supervision on <br />specific projects, such as a study of possible additional sales tax <br />revenue, etc. The Council concurred in this recommendation. <br /> <br />The subject of remuneration presently being paid to Secretaries who <br />attend the meetings of the Council, Boards and Commissions, was <br />discussed, the City Manager to make a study of this subject and report <br />back at a later date. <br /> <br />The City Manager was requested to present recommendations for an <br />annual report to the residents through a different media than the <br />audio visual report which has been very successful in its many showings. <br /> <br />The planned tour of City facilities was discussed and it was <br />determined that the City Manager make arrangements for transportation <br />facilities which will enable the Council and certain Department Heads <br />to travel in one group. <br /> <br />Having reviewed and discussed at length departmental budgets, with the <br />following changes to be made, the meeting adjourned to Thursday, <br />May 31, 1962 at 7:00 P.M. in the Council Chamber: <br /> <br />Revenues: <br /> <br />Alcoholic Beverage Licenses <br />Building Permit Fees <br /> <br />$27,000 <br />85,000 <br /> <br />Departmental: <br /> <br />City Council Item 401-31 <br />City Attorney Item 407-50 <br /> <br />1,500 <br />50 <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:45 P.M. <br /> <br />~XB~ <br /> <br />Mayor Butterworth <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~J~ ~d('Mt'~ <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />5-29-62 <br />
