<br />1 <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF <br />ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF <br />MINUTES <br />(~lay 1, 1962) <br /> <br />14- 5680 <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />NAY IS, 1962 <br /> <br />the City Council of the City of Arcadia met in regular session in the <br />Council Chamber of the City Hall at 8:00 P.M., }ffiy IS, 1962. <br /> <br />the Invocation was offered by Father Thomas Stehly, Assistant Pastor of <br />the Holy Angels Church. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Phillips led in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />PRESENT : <br />ABSENT : <br /> <br />Councilmen Balser, Phillips, Reibold, Turner <br />Mayor Butterworth <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilman Reibold that the minutes of the Regular meeting of <br />May 1, 19q2 be approved as submitted in writing. Councilman Balser <br />~econded the motion which was carried unanimously, with the exception of <br />Councilman Phillips, who abstained due to his absence from said meeting. <br /> <br />(May 10, 1962) Councilman Turner NOVED that the minutes of the Special Meeting of ~ffiy <br />10, 1962 as submitted in writing be amended by amending page I, line 2, <br />paragraph 4, to read as follows: "....of $5000 and $1500 respectively, <br />pe returned to the estate of Harry Mdffihon" and that as thus amended, <br />said minutes be approved. Councilman Reibold seconded the motion <br />which was carried unanimously, with the exception of Councilman Balser <br />who abstained due to his absence from said meeting. <br /> <br />HEARING <br />(Murad) <br /> <br />j 90c) <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />INDEXEb <br /> <br />Planning Commission Resolution No. 444 recommending the granting of <br />a zone variance to allow a second dwelling at 931 South Eighth Avenue. <br /> <br />the Planning Director displayed and explained a map of the area, which <br />included the subject property, as well as a plot plan of the proposed <br />~econd dwelling. He stated in substance that the subject property is <br />now improved with a single family dwelling built in 1945 and located <br />approximately 119 feet from the front lot line and contains approxi- <br />mately 916 square feet. That the property is in Zone R-l, which allows <br />more than one dwelling under three specified conditions. That the <br />~ubject lot complies with two conditions in that it contains more than <br />,he minimum square footage requirement for two houses and that more than <br />,he minimum requirement of lots on the subject block have more than one <br />house. That the property does not comply with the requirement of having <br />peen resubdivided since 1949. That in the opinion of the Planning <br />Commission the subject property would be denied the right possessed by <br />the other properties to the south and that said Commission recommends <br />that the application be approved subject to the conditions set forth in <br />Planning Commission Resolution No. 444 (Resolution on file in .office of <br />the City Clerk). <br /> <br />the City Clerk advised that there were no additional communications <br />having previously submitted to the City Council all pertinent data, <br />including pictures, which had been made a part of the file. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Phillips declared the. hearing open and announced that <br />the Council would first hear from the appellants: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />5-15-62 <br />
