St. Elmo Nauman, Pastor of the Arcadia <br />Congregational Church, <br /> <br />Mayor Balser led in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />PRESENT : <br />ABSENT : <br /> <br />Councilmen Butterworth, Camphouse, Reibold, Phillips, Balser <br />None <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilman Phillips, seconded by Councilman Butterworth and <br />carried unanimously that the minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 6, <br />1962 be approved as submitted in writing, <br /> <br />Hearing on the application for a business permit of Marsh Dozar, to hold <br />a public auction for the Union Bank and Trust Company of Los Angeles of <br />real property located at 1919 Wilson Avenue, was continued at the Council <br />meeting of March 6, 1962, pending receipt of further information from the <br />Union Bank and Trust Company as to their reply to the Realty Board. <br /> <br />The City Clerk reported that a communication had been received from the <br />applicant dated March 19, 1962, in which he stated in substance that until <br />further notice, he desired to cancel his application for a business permit <br />to hold a public auction of real 'estate in ,the 'City :oF-Arcad,fa. ' <br /> <br />Whereupon Councilman Butterworth stated that in view of the said letter <br />from the applicant, withdrawing his application, he MOVED that the <br />application of Marsh Dozar for a business permit to hold a public auction <br />for the Union Bank and Trust Company of Los Angeles of real property <br />located at 1919 Wilson Avenue be denied, Motion seconded by Councilman <br />Phillips and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Balser declared the hearing open (Section 9123.5.1 Arcadia Municipal <br />Code) on the appeal of James H, Keith from Planning Commission recommen- <br />dation for denial of Lot Split No, 357, and inquired if anyone desired to <br />be heard on the matter, <br /> <br />The appellant (Mr. Keith) stated that he did not wish to add anything to <br />the information presently on record. <br /> <br />No one else desiring to be heard Councilman Butterworth MOVED that the <br />hearing be closed. Motion seconded by Councilman Phillips and carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Balser advised that a communication, appealing the decision of the <br />I~D Planning Commission, dated March 2, 1962, had been received from the <br />appellant and had been made a part of the record, <br /> <br />Councilman Phillips stated in part that he had personally viewed the <br />subject property; that the statements in Mr, Keith's letter of March 2, <br />1962 are substantially correct; that there is a house across the street <br />from the desired lot split; that during the Planning Commission hearing <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />3-20-62 <br />
