Walter F. Dannaman, Pastor of the <br />American Lutheran Church of Arcadia. <br /> <br />Mayor Balser led in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />PRESENT : <br />ABSENT : <br /> <br />Councilmen Butterworth, Reibold, Phillips, Balser <br />Councilman Camphouse <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilman Butterworth, seconded by Councilman Reibold and <br />carried unanimously that the minutes of the Regular Meeting of December <br />19, 1961 be corrected by changing the vote of Mayor Balser to "No" on <br />the introduction of Ordinance No. 1163, and as thus corrected that they <br />be approved. <br /> <br />Mayor Balser declared the hearing open on the application of Jack Rouse & <br />Son, Inc., 463 South Robertson Boulevard, Beverly Hills, California, by <br />Allan Tolle, Office Manager, for a business permit to allow a public <br />auction to be held January 11, 1962 at Cory Machine Shop, Inc., 32 Front <br />Street, Arcadia, from 10:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., and inquired if anyone in <br />the audience desired to speak in favor of the granting of the requested <br />permit. <br /> <br />Mr. Allan Tolle addressed the Council and in answer to various questions <br />advised that nothing would be sold other than that already on the premises; <br />nothing would be brought in; that the merchandise proposed to be auctioned <br />consisted of machinery, tools, shop equipment, fixtures, office equipment <br />and the like; that the auction would be conducted inside the building <br />within which the shop is located. <br /> <br />No one desiring to speak in opposition and no one else desiring to be <br />heard Councilman Phillips ~ that the hearing be closed. Councilman <br />Reibold seconded the motion which was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilman Phillips further MOVED that Council authorize the granting of <br />a business permit to Jack Rouse & Son, Inc. to hold a public auction <br />January 11, 1962 at the Cory Machine Shop, Inc., 32 Front Street, Arcadia, <br />from 10:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Councilman Reibold seconded the motion <br />which was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Resolution No. 434 recommending rezoning from C-2 to <br />R-3 on property located at the southeast corner of Live Oak and Lenore <br />Avenues. <br /> <br />The Director of Planning displayed a map of the general area and pointed <br />to an area outlined in red as the area proposed to be changed from C-2 <br />to R-3, and an area outlined in green which is proposed to be annexed to <br />the City. He stated in part that as a result of public hearings held <br />before the Planning Commission it recommended that the property immediately <br />at the southeast corner of Lenore Avenue and Live Oak Avenue be changed <br />from zone C-2 to R-3 subject to a condition of approval that the 20 foot <br />alley that now exists between Hempsted and Lenore Avenues be extended <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />1-2-62 <br />
