John Toews, Arcadia Christian Church <br /> <br />Mayor Elton D. Phillips <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Balser, Butterworth, Reibold, Turner, Phillips <br />None <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilman Butterworth, seconded by Councilman Reibold and <br />carried unanimously that-the-Minutes of the' Council Meeting of <br />January 7, 1964 be APPROVED. <br /> <br />The recommendation of the City Manager was APPROVED on MOTION of <br />Councilman Reibold, seconded by Councilman Turner and carried unani- <br />mously that the City Manager's appointment of Wesley C. McDaniel <br />(Administrative Assistant to the City Manager) as Manager Pro Tempore <br />be approved. Said appointment to be effective as of this date. <br /> <br />Mayor Phillips declared open the hearing on the application for <br />business permit filed by Howard W. Smith for the installation and <br />operation of amusement games at the Santa Anita Bowling Lanes. <br /> <br />No one desiring to speak to the matter Councilman Reibold MOVED that <br />the hearing be closed. The motion was seconded by, Councilman Balser <br />and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilman Reibold further moved that a business permit be granted. <br />Motion seconded by Councilman Balser and carried unanimously: <br /> <br />Mayor Phillips announced that this is the time and place fixed by <br />Resolution No. 3631 for the hearing of any protests or objections to <br />the formation of Lighting Maintenance District No. 21. The files <br />disclosing that the Director of Public Works and the City Clerk <br />having given notice in the required manner, Mayor Phillips declared <br />open the hearing and inquired if anyone in the ~~dience desired to be <br />heard. <br /> <br />No one desiring to be heard and the City Clerk having r~ceived no <br />written protests, Councilman Balser MOVED that the hearing be closed. <br />Councilman Butterworth seconded the motion which was carried unani- <br />mously. <br /> <br />Councilman Balser then MOVED that Lighting Maintenance District No. 21 <br />be ordered formed as contemplated by Resolution No. 3631.
