J. Wm. Daum, Pastor of the Episcopal <br />Church of the Transfiguration. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Reibold led in the pledge of allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Balser, Turner, Reibold <br />Councilman Butterworth and Mayor Phillips <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilman Balser, seconded by Councilman Turner and carried <br />unanimously that the minutes of the regular meeting of June 4, 1963 as <br />submitted in writing be approved. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Reibold declared that since no action can be taken <br />until time for appeal elapses the zone variance request of Helen C. Curci <br />to permit the construction of six additional. dwelling units behind an <br />existing house on real property located at 250 Oakhurst Lane (Planning <br />Commission Resolution No. 477 recommending denial) will be held over <br />until the appeal period has passed and will appear on agenda for the <br />regular Council meeting of July 2, 1963. <br /> <br />Mqyor Pro Tempore Reibold declared that since no action can be taken <br />until time for appeal elapses the zone variance request of Robert F. <br />and Patricia L. Williams to permit the construction of a 25 foot wide <br />curb cut on Live Oak Avenue to allow vehicular access to a proposed <br />parking area intended to serve a proposed restaurant upon property known <br />as 325 East Live Oak Avenue (Planning Commission Resolution No. 478 <br />recommending approval) will be held over until the appeal period has <br />passed and will appear on agenda for the regular Council meeting of <br />July 2, 1963. <br /> <br />-,- <br /> <br />The City Manager read a report dated June 7, 1963 recommending the <br />approval and acceptance of preliminary plans and specifications suo~~tted <br />by Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Heiss on June 6,1963 for their Arcadia Town <br />Center project to be located at the southwest corner of First Avenue and <br />Wheeler Street (former library site). <br /> <br />Said report stated in substance that the terms of the lease agreement <br />and purchase option between the City and Mr. and Mrs. Heiss have been <br />complied with to date; that the extent of the deficiency in parking <br />cannot be determined at this time, the calculations being available only <br />at the time of submission of final plans. <br /> <br />The report outlined in substance the proposed structures, to wit: xhe <br />main structure to be an eight story building, the ground floor provid- <br />ing for small shops, lobby, coffee shop, etc., floors from the second <br />to sixth proposed for offices, the seventh floor proposed for banquet <br />or ballrooms and the eighth floor for a restaurant and cocktail lounge; <br />the building to contain two passenger and one freight elevators. That <br />there is proposed a Junior Department Store in a two story structure ,and <br />a one story structure for small shops. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />6-18-63 <br />
