<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />15:5887 <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />JANUARY 25, 1963 <br /> <br />Pursuant to the order of adjournment of the regular adjourned meeting <br />of the City Council of January 22, 1963, the City Council of the City <br />of Arcadia met in regular adjourned session in the Council Chamber of <br />the City Hall at 7:30 A.M., January 25,1963. <br /> <br />PRESENT: ..Councilmen Balser, Phillips, Reibold, Turner, Butterworth, <br />'and Water Superintendent John Grivich and City Controller <br />Wayne Harris <br /> <br />ANNEXATION CHARGES TO THE METROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT: <br /> <br />Extensive discussion held on the forthcoming election ,on March 12, <br />1963 which will determine whether or not the Uppei!San Gabriel Valley <br />Municipal Water Dist~ict shoul~ annex to the Metropolitan.Water District. <br /> <br />The Council members agreed that' prior to such election the City Council <br />should declare its intention on the manner in which 'the' cost"of <br />annexing and annual current assessments will be paid so that'the <br />voters will have all the information that is presently available to <br />J <br />them in order to vote on the is~~e. 'I ' <br /> <br />" , <br />After said discussion, in which the individual'Councilmen expressed <br />opinions regarding various methods of payment, ~including 1) the assess- <br />ment to appear on the annual tax statements, or 2) to increase the City <br />water rate, <br /> <br />, . 11 <br />Councilman Turner MOVED: If the electorate votes. to annex the Upper <br />San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District to .:the MetropdUtan Water <br />District that it is the intention'of the Arcadia City Council to pay <br />the annexation costs for such annexation plus the annual current assess- <br />ments of the Metropolitan Water District by increasing the water rate <br />by five cents (5~) per hundred cubic feet rather than levying the cost <br />thereof on the ad valorem tax.
