<br />16:6699 <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />DECEMBER 21, 1965 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Arcadia, California met in regular <br />session in the Council Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall at 8, P.M. <br />December 21, 1965. <br /> <br />Mr. Joe Olmstead, Arcadia Community Church <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF <br />ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />Mayor Conrad T. Reibold <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Balser, Considine, Forman, Turner, Reibold <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF <br />MINUTES <br />(12-7-65) <br /> <br />On MOTION by Councilman Forman, seconded by Councilman Considine and <br />carried unanimously the Minutes of the regular meeting of December 7, <br />1965 were APPROVED. <br /> <br />p: <br /> <br />Planning Commission Resolution No. 571 recommending the amendment of <br />the Municipal Code concerning uses permitted and regulations <br />applicable under C-M zone (commercial-manufacturing). Following an <br />oral report by the Planning Director as to the contents of said <br />resolution the hearing was declared open by Mayor Reibold. No one <br />desired to speak either in favor or opposed to the recommendation <br />;1l9Y~and the hearing was CLOSED on MOTION by Councilman Forman, seconded <br />'(j Uby Councilman Considine and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />HEARING <br />(C-M <br />zone uses) <br /> <br />The recommended amendments deal with height, yard, parking, sign and <br />landscaping regulations to be applicable in Zone C-M. It was then <br />MOVED by Councilman Balser, seconded by Councilman Forman and carried <br />unanimously that the recommendation of the Planning Commission as <br />contained in its Resolution No. 571 be APPROVED. <br /> <br />HEARING <br />(West <br />Arcadia <br />rezoning) <br /> <br />Reclassification of certain property between Duarte Road and Camino <br />Real, west of Baldwin Avenue and Golden West Avenue from R-2 and R-3 <br />to Zones C-2 and D, and on the recommendation of the Planning <br />Commission as contained in its Resolution No. 572. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />j-'J/3h <br /> <br />The Planning Director summarized the contents of said resolution, <br />exploring the regulations recommended to be imposed concurrent with <br />said reclassification. Projecturals were reviewed depicting existing <br />zoning of the approximate 45 acres, structures and conditions <br />thereof. <br /> <br />Mayor Reibold then declared the hearing open and the following <br />persons addressed the City Council: <br /> <br />George S. Glassoff, 834 W. Duarte Road, stated in part that he stands <br />to lose a major part of his life's savings which have been invested <br />in a 25 unit apartment facility at 834 W. Duarte Road if the <br />recommended rezoning is approved; that the vacancy factor has <br />increased 25 percent since the commencement of the commercial <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />12-21-65 <br />
