Reibold <br /> <br />Roger Turner, retiring from the Planning <br />Commission, was presented with a plaque <br />honoring him for his years of service on <br />the Recreation and Planning Commissions, <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Considine, Forman, Turner, Reibold <br />Councilman Balser <br /> <br />On MOTION by Councilman Forman, seconded Ly Councilman Turner and <br />carried unanimously the Minutes of the Regular meeting of September <br />7, 1965 were APPROVED as submitted in writing. <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilman Forman, seconded by Councilman Turner and <br />carried unanimously that the request of the applicant be APPROVED and <br />that the public hearing on the zone variance application to permit <br />the construction of a 21 unit apartment development at 343 W. <br />Colorado Boulevard be continued until the regular meeting of October <br />5, 1965. <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilman Forman, seconded by Councilman Turner and <br />carried unanimously that the request of the applicant be APPROVED and <br />that the public hearing on the zone change application on property <br />located on the northwest corner of Santa Anita Avenue and Las Tunas <br />Drive be continued until the regular meeti~of October 19, 1965. <br /> <br />Mayor Reibold declared the hearing open on the application of Mr, and <br />Mrs, Darrell Clingman for a business permit to allow the operation <br />of a Montessori School for children from 2~ to 5 years of age at <br />1406 S, Santa Anita Avenue, Petitions and communications in protest <br />and communications in favor were made part of the record. <br /> <br />The applicant, Mrs. Clingman, in answer to a question propounded by <br />Councilman "Turner, stated that the enterprise will be a private one; <br />that they will be under no obligation to another school; that the <br />teacher is affiliated with the Montessori International Association <br />by membership and that the special equipment could be purchased by <br />anyone. <br /> <br />In answer to a request by John Searfoss, 27 E, Pamela Road, the City <br />Attorney read provisions from the Municipal Code concerning conditional <br />use permits which are part of the zoning ordinance dealing primarily <br />with the appropriate locations for specific uses, and from the <br />provisions concerning business permit applications which are peculiar <br />to the applicants who will operate and the manner in which they <br />propose to conduct a business. <br /> <br />Mr. Searfoss continued in part that he was spokesman for the property <br />owners residing within a 300' radius of the subject property; that in <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />9-21-65 <br />
