Reibo1d <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Balser, Considine, Forman, Turner, Reibold <br />None <br /> <br />The Minutes of the regular meeting of July 6, 1965 were APPROVED on <br />MOTION by Councilman Turner, seconded by Councilman Forman and <br />carried unanimously. Due to his. absence from said meeting, <br />Councilman Balser abstained from voting. <br /> <br />to conduct an <br />Mayor Reibold <br />spoke to the <br /> <br />HEARING Application of Mario Piatelli for a business permit <br />(Auction) auction of three homes and one lot on Sharon Road. <br />I.J. declared the hearing open and the following persons <br />!J-f' ~JA. ,.L:iitatter: <br /> <br />~~~r_~ - Robert A. Zoller, 339 Sharon Road, opposed an auction in the resi- <br />dential area and referred to the unfinished appearance of the subject <br />homes and lot, and stated that in his opinion there are other and <br />better ways to dispose of property. <br /> <br />1 HEARING <br />, (Zone change <br />Piken) <br /> <br />9--11 ;W <br /> <br />No one else desiring to be heard Councilman Turner MOVED that the <br />hearing be CLOSED. Motion seconded by Councilman Balser and carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued and reference was made to the prior policy of the <br />City in disallowing auctions due to the business activity they would <br />bring to residential areas. Based on this and the opposition expressed <br />by nearby residents it was MOVED by Councilman Considine, seconded by <br />Councilman Balser and carried unanimously that the application be <br />DISAPPROVED. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Resolution No. 553 recommending upon specified <br />conditions the reclassification of property at the northwest corner <br />of Foothill Boulevard and Second Avenue to Zones C-1 and D <br />(architectural overlay). It was brought out by the Planning Director <br />that the subject property is presently zoned C-2 to a depth of 135 ft. <br />and PR-l to a depth of 75 ft.; that the remaining property is in Zone <br />R-1; that the R-1 properties on Sycamore Av~nue from the wash <br />easterly to the west boundary of the former Foothill Jewish Center <br />property are 375 ft. deep and the remaining lpts to the east are 170 <br />ft. in depth; that the subject property is located on an arterial <br />highway and the Planning Commission recommended the reclassification <br />as the proposed development will be more compatible if present zoning <br />is expanded. He also explained conditions upon which the Commission <br />recommended the rezoning and projecturals were displayed, <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />7-20-65 <br />
