<br />1 <br /> <br />BUDGET <br />HEARING <br /> <br />;)-10 t/r; <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />NO. 3689 <br /> <br />16:6278 <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />JUNE 30, 1964 <br /> <br />Pursuant to the order of adjournment of the regular meeting of the <br />City Council of June 16, 1964, the City Council of the City of <br />Arcadia met in adjourned regular session in the Council Chamber of <br />the City Hall at 8 P.M., June 30, 1964. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Considine, Forman, Reibold, Turner <br />Councilman Balser <br /> <br />The notice of hearing having been published, copies of the proposed <br />budget having been on file in the office of the City Clerk for the <br />prescribed time in accordance with the City Charter, Mayor Turner <br />declared the hearing open and inquired if anyone desired to be <br />heard on the matter. No one in the audience responded. <br /> <br />Brief discussion held on the possibility of reducing the tax rate. <br />It was noted that the City Manager had included in the final budget <br />two methods of approaching the tax rate, which cannot be established <br />until the middle of August at which time the assessed valuation <br />figures will be available, one based on a tax rate of the present <br />$1.10 and the other at a reduced rate of $1.05. . <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilman Reibold, seconded by Councilman Forman and <br />carried unanimously that the hearing be closed. <br /> <br />Mayor Turner acknowledged receipt of a communication from the City <br />Attorney in which he requested retention of the stenographer-clerk <br />position in his office. The proposed budget would reduce the <br />position to a typist-clerk. The consensus of the City Council <br />being that the amount of work handled by the attorney's office <br />presently and the anticipated future load merits retention of the <br />higher present classification, MOTION was made by Councilman <br />Reibold, seconded' by Councilman Forman and carried unanimously that <br />the proposed 1964-65 budget be further amended by substituting the <br />classification of stenographer-clerk (Schedule 414 Range $371-452) <br />in place of typist-clerk II (Schedule 412 - Range $353-430) on <br />Pages 23 and 90 in the budget. <br /> <br />MOTION was then made by Councilman Forman, seconded by Councilman <br />Reibold and carried unanimously that the 1964-65 budget as <br />presented and ~hus corrected be APPROVED. <br /> <br />Whereupon the City Attorney presented, explained the content and <br />read the title of Resolution No. 3689, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF <br />THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE OFFICIAL BUDGET FOR <br />THE FISCAL YEAR 1964-1965." <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilman Considine, seconded by Councilman ReiboId and <br />carried on roll call vote as follows that the reading of the full <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />6-30-64 <br />
