<br />17:6854 <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />AUGUST 24, 1966 <br /> <br />Pursuant to the order of adjournment of the regular meeting of the City <br />Council on August 16, 1966, the City Council of the City of Areadia met <br />in adjourned regular session in the Council Chamber of the City Hall at <br />7:30 P. M. August 24, 1966. <br /> <br />I ROLL <br />. CALL <br />MWD <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Arth, Butterworth, Considine, Hage, Forman <br />None <br /> <br />It was explained by the City Manager Pro Tempore that $374,026.07 would <br />be paid to the Metropolitan Water Distriet during the fiscal year of <br />1966-67; that $24,089.68 is to be paid immediately; that $209,961.83 <br />will be paid on or before December 10, 1966 and $139,974.50 to be paid <br />on or before May 10, 1967. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION Whereupon Mayor Forman presented, explained the content and read the title <br />NO. 3896 of Resolution No. 3896 entitled: "A RESOLUTION AND ORDER OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ELECTING TO PAY OUT OF <br />ADOPTED MUNICIPAL FUNDS ONE HUNDRED (100%) PERCENT OF THE AMOUNT OF TAX WHICH <br />WOULD OTHERWISE BE LEVIED UPON PROPERTY WITHIN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA BY <br />1 ~ ) - -r AND FOR THE METROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, FOR THE <br />FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1966 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1967, AND <br />PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT THEREOF." <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilman Hage, seconded by Councilman Butterworth and carried <br />on roll call vote as follows that the reading of the full body of <br />Resolution No. 3896 be WAIVED: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Arth, Butterworth, Considine, Hage and Forman <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />Councilman Considine MOVED that Resolution No. 3896 be ADOPTED. Motion <br />seconded by Councilman Butterworth and carried on roll call vote as follows: <br /> <br />/ <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT <br /> <br />Councilmen Arth, Butterworth, Considine, Hage and Forman <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />In order to bring into discussion the following matter the prov~s~ons of <br />the Procedural Ordinance were waived On MOTION by Councilman Butterworth, <br />seconded by Councilman Considine and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />BOWLING <br />ALLEY <br /> <br />The City Manager Pro Tempore advised that J. Edward Vander Muelen, lessee <br />and operator of the Bowling Square, 1020 S. Baldwin Avenue, desired to <br />explore with the City Council at the earliest possible date, the regulations <br />governing the serving of alcoholic beverages in his extab1ishment. It was <br />stated that time is of the essence in that a prolonged delay in a final <br />determination in the matter could result in a monetary loss to Mr. Vander <br />Muelen. <br /> <br />It was MOVED by Councilman Butterworth, seconded by Councilman Considine <br />and carried unanimously that the matter be placed on the agenda for the <br />regular meeting to be held September 6, 1966.
