Stanley Courtney, Arcadia Presbyterian Church <br /> <br />Mayor George L. Forman <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Arth, Butterworth" Considine, Hage, Forman <br />None <br /> <br />On MOTION by Councilman Butterworth, seconded by Councilman Considine <br />and carried unanimously the Minutes of the Adjourned Regular Meeting <br />of June 28, 1966 and the Regular Meeting of July 5, 1966 were <br />APPROVED as submitted in writing. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission by Resolution No. 590 recommended denial of <br />an application for a conditional use permit to allow property at <br />901 W. Duarte Road to be used as a service station. The applicant <br />subsequently appealed the decision and a hearing was scheduled for <br />this date. <br /> <br />The City Manager Pro Tempore explained that the applicant had <br />requested a two week delay. It was the consensus of the City Council <br />that the hearing should be officially opened inasmuch as notices had <br />been mailed to persons who might be present and desired to be heard. <br />Whereupon Mayor Forman opened the hearing and in response to his <br />inquiry if anyone desired to be heard on the matter, Mr. Paul <br />Cacciatore, 1123 Golden West Avenue, addressed the City Council <br />expressing opposition to the service station at this location. The <br />City Clerk read a letter of opposition from Mrs. Marguerite'M. Nores, <br />912 Arcadia Avenue. <br /> <br />No one else desiring to be heard at this time, it was MOVED by <br />Councilman Butterworth, seconded by Councilman Considine and carried <br />unanimously that the hearing be continued until the next regular <br />meeting, August 2, 1966 <br /> <br />The Assistant Planning Director explained that the Planning <br />Commission by Resolution No. 591 had recommended denial of an <br />application for a zone variance to permit the property at 147 E. <br />Duarte Road to be used for a drive-in restaurant; that the subject <br />property is in Zone C-l which permits only restaurants where all <br />customers are served at a table or counter; that traffic and <br />incidental problems of operations of this type of use have been found <br />to be inappropriate for C-l zoning. <br /> <br />The period during which an appeal could have been filed by the <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />7-19-66 <br />
