I'! <br />/1 <br />{J- ': <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />ARCADIA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 21, 1978 <br /> <br />The Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met <br />on February 21, 1978 at 8:30 p,.m. in <br />Hall Council Chamber. <br /> <br />in regular session <br />the Arcadia City <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />~ <br />Agency Members Gilb, Lauber, Margett, Parry, Saelid <br />None <br /> <br />On MOTION by Member Gilb, seconded by Member Parry and carried <br />unanimously the minutes of the regular meeting of February 7 <br />were APPROVED. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />As required by the terms of the Disposition and Development Agreement <br />with Engineerfng Science, Inc., preliminary construction drawings, <br />the plot plan and elevations were presented to the Agency. These <br />are in conformance with the concept plan unanimously approved by <br />the Agency. <br /> <br />Discussion held on the setback and it was submitted that in order to <br />maintain the greatest amount of separation between the proposed <br />building and the residential area to the north the Company proposes <br />'--' <br />to maintain a 20 foot front yard setback at the westerly end of the <br />building instead of a 35 foot special setback which is applicable <br />to property on Colorado Place. This setback has been approved by <br />the Modification Committee. A meeting between Walt Muller, owner of <br />the Westerner Motel at 161 Colorado Place, and the architect for the <br />new building, was held and a compromise on the setback has been <br />reached agreeable to both parties. <br /> <br />The architect, John Bartlett, 37 W. Huntington Drive, explained the <br />materials to be used on the steel fireproof structure~ The gla~ing <br />will be reflected glass. There will be a circular stairwell in the <br />middle of the building. As to timing he said in part that the escrow <br />will close March 22, demolition of the existing property at the end <br />of March and construction should start around June 1 with completion <br />hopefully in April of 1979.
