T. Paddock, member of the Board of Deacons of the Arcadia <br />Congregational Church. <br /> <br />Councilman Robert J, Considine <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Arth, Considine, Rage, Helms, Butterworth <br />None <br /> <br />On MOTION by Councilman Helms, seconded by Councilman Considine and <br />carried unanimously, the minutes of the regular meeting of June 16, <br />the adjourned regular meetings of June 11, 25, 30, 1970, were <br />APPROVED. Councilman Hage abstained from voting on the June 16 minutes <br />inasmuch as he was absent on that date. <br /> <br />CONTINUED -- Appeal filed by Mrs, Harry Friedman from the decision of <br />the Planning Commission in its denial of her application for division <br />of property at 120-150 E. Duarte Road. Robert Cowgill, 533 Fremont <br />Avenue, Los Angeles, asked for another continuance to provide time to <br />confer with new counsel. He felt the parties concerned were close to <br />an agreement. Mrs. Friedman, 10307 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, <br />asked that the request of Mr, Cowgill be granted -- as she hoped a <br />meeting of the minds could be reached, <br /> <br />Mayor Butterworth noted that the matter has been continued many times <br />during the last six months and stated in part that unless there is <br />reasOn to believe a continuance would bring about results he felt the <br />matter should be brought to a conclusion and denied without prejudice; <br />that in the event an~reement is reached with a new approach to the <br />lot split, the matter in all propriety should go back to the Planning <br />Commission for review. <br /> <br />Councilmen Arth and Hage expressed willingness to extend additional <br />time because the illegal lot split would still be an open problem <br />and One which must be resolved at some point and time. <br /> <br />Whereupon Councilman Arth MOVED TO CLOSE the public hearing and to <br />CONTINUE the matter until August 4. Motion seconded by Councilman <br />Hage, Roll call vote was then taken: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Arth, Hage MOTION DID NOT CARRY <br />Councilmen Considine, Helms, Butterworth <br />None <br /> <br />CounCilman Helms then MOVED to CLOSE the hearing.
