<br />-- , <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS ARE TAPE RECORDED AND ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />NO. 4062 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />ADOPTED <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />18: 7440 <br /> <br />SPECIAl MEETING <br /> <br />OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />APRIL 8, 1969 <br /> <br />A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, was held <br />in the Council Chamber on April 8, 1969, at 7 P.M. Said meeting was <br />noticed in full compliance with Section 408 of the City Charter. <br /> <br />Purpose: <br />I <br /> <br />To discuss the availability and use of funds from the State <br />Disaster Office for the repair of public facilities damaged <br />in the recent heavy rainfall. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Arth, Butterworth, Considine, Helms, Hage <br />None <br /> <br />The City Manager and the Director of Public Works explained that the <br />California Disaster Office had requested immediate submission of <br />damage claims, hence the necessity of this meeting. It was noted <br />that the estimated damage 'to Wilderness Park and some city streets <br />is $15,385. Items of work and estimated costs for each item of work <br />for which financial assistance is being requested is as follows: <br /> <br />Debris clearance <br />Protective, Health and <br />Sanitation Measures <br />Streets, Roads and Bridges <br />Public Utilities <br /> <br />$ 420. <br /> <br />125. <br />13 ,340. <br />1,500. <br />$15,385. <br /> <br />It was recommended that the Director of Public Works be authorized <br />by resolution to execute for and on behalf of the City said applica- <br />tion and to file it with the appropriate State Office for the purpose <br />of applying for Federal financial assistance under the Federal Disaster <br />Act (Public Law 875, 81st Congress; 42 U. S. C. 1855-1855g). <br /> <br />Councilman Helms observed that he had viewed the damage sustained at <br />Wilderness Park; that it is extensive; that repairs are obviously <br />necessary. It was the consensus of the City Council that if funds <br />have been made available for this type of disaster relief, it is <br />appropriate and timely to file the necessary application. <br /> <br />Whereupon the City Attorney presented, explained the content and read <br />the tit le of Resolution No. 4062, ent it led: "ATTACHMENT FOR APPLICATION <br />NO. ., REQUESTING FINANCIAl ASSISTANCE UNDER FEDERAL DISASTER ACT." <br /> <br />It was MOVED by Councilman Helms, seconded by Councilman Butterworth <br />and carried on roll call vote as follows, that the reading of the full <br />body of Resolution No. 4062 be WAIVED: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Council~en Arth, Butterworth, Considine, Helms, Rage <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />It was MOVED by Councilman Helms, seconded by Councilman Butterworth <br />and carried on roll call vote as follows, that Resolution No. 4062 be <br />ADOPTED. <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Arth, Butterworth, Considine, Helms, Rage <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />On MOTION by Councilman Helms, <br />meeting was ADJOURNED sine die <br /> <br /> <br />/72JTEST:.,. k-~ <br />~ ~ <br />City Clerk <br />
