<br />CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS ARE TAPE RECORDED AND ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF <br />ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />MINUTE <br />APPROVAL <br /> <br />18:7423 <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />MARCH 4, 1969 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Arcadia, California, met in regular <br />session in the Council Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall on March 4, <br />1969, at 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Rev, Kenneth Hansen, Lutheran Church of the Cross <br /> <br />Mayor Don W, Hage <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmen Arth, Butterworth, Considine, Helms, Hage <br />None <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 18, 1969, and the <br />Adjourned Regular Meeting of February 25, 1969, were APPROVED on <br />MOTION by Councilman Helms, seconded by Councilman Butterworth and <br />carried unanimously. Councilman Considine abstained from voting <br />on the February 25, 1969, minutes due to his absence therefrom, <br /> <br />HEARING Planning Commission recommendation (Resolution No, 670) concerning <br />altering the membership of the Modification Committee, This would <br />, .~' entail an amendment to the Municipal Code Section'9292,l, The <br />f.)? ~;0~ , C~mmission finds that said committee will function more efficiently <br />q ',_!.j) by substituting the Planning Director foc the Building Official as <br />))~. one of the members of the committee, The Committee would then be <br />r,,~" ~ composed of three persons, to wit: Chairman of the Planning Commission <br />Iii'. (or such member as the Chairman may from time to time designate), the <br />Planning Director or his deputy, and the City Manager or his deputy, <br /> <br />~CONDITIONAL <br />_USE <br /> <br /> <br />II '",,"'" <br /> <br />(continued) <br /> <br />A COMMENDATION <br />(Fire and <br />Police) <br /> <br />Mayor Hage declared the hearing open, No one desiring to be heard on <br />the matter, the hearing was CLOSED on MOTION by Councilman Considine, <br />seconded by Councilman Arth and carried unanimously, <br /> <br />Whereupon it was MOVED by Councilman Considine, seconded by Councilman <br />Arth and carried unanimously that said recommendation be APPROVED and <br />that the City Attorney prepare the appropriate ordinance to change <br />Section 9292,1 of the Arcadia Municipal Code, <br /> <br />a, Planning Commission (Resolution No, 668) granting a conditional <br />use permit for a restaurant at 815 S, Baldwin Avenue was RATIFIED, <br />subject to conditions, on MOTION by Councilman Considine, seconded <br />by Councilman Butterworth and carried unanimously, <br /> <br />b, Planning Commission Resolution Nos. 669-A and 669-B granting <br />conditional use permits for restaurants at 305 and 309 E, Foothill <br />Boulevard were RATIFIED,subject to conditions, on MOTION by Councilman <br />Considine, seconded by Councilman Arth and carried unanimously, <br /> <br />c. Planning Commission (Resolution No. 671) granting a conditional <br />use permit for a restaurant at 101 South First Avenue was carried <br />over until the regular meeting of March 18, which will be the <br />expiration date for the filing of an appeal, <br /> <br />The City Council acknowledged the commendation from the Methodist <br />Hospital for the efficiency of the City Fire and Police Departments <br />during its recent fire problem; that the Hospital Officials are <br />convinced that the expeditious handling of the fire by the departments <br />was the primary reason no lives were lost nor serious injuries sustained~ <br /> <br />- 1 - <br /> <br />3-4-69 <br />
