<br />ORDINANCE NO. 29. <br /> <br />TO PROVIDE FOR THE REGULATION OF THE TRAFFIC IN ALCOHOLIC <br />LIQUORS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA: MAKING IT <br />A MISDEMEANOR TO SELL AT RETAIL, GIVE AWAY OR DISTRIBUTE ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR <br />WITHIN SAID TERRITORY AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR SUCH OFFENSES. <br /> <br />THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO ORDAIN AS <br /> <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section ~. That ordinance No.6, ordinances of the City of <br /> <br /> <br />Arcadia be and the same is hereby repealed. <br /> <br /> <br />Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any person, corporation, <br /> <br />firm, company, association or club, as principal, agent, employee, or <br /> <br />otherwise within the corporate limits of the City of Arcadia to sell at <br /> <br /> <br />retail, furnish, distribute or give away any alcoholic liquors except as <br /> <br />provided in Section 3 hereof. <br /> <br /> <br />Section i. Nothing in this act shall be interpreted as rendering <br /> <br /> <br />unlawful the serving of such liquors by any person at his home to members <br /> <br />of his family or to his guests as an act of hospitality when no money or <br /> <br />thing of value is received in return therefor and when said home is not a <br /> <br />place of public resort. <br /> <br /> <br />Section ~. Any person violating any provisions of this ordinance <br /> <br /> <br />shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall <br /> <br /> <br />be punished by a fine not exceeding Six Hundred ($6oo.o0} dollars or by <br /> <br /> <br />imprisonment in the County jail not exceeding seven months or by both <br /> <br /> <br />such fine and imprisonment, but any person ftJund guilty of violating any <br /> <br /> <br />of the provisions of this ordinance by conviction for an offense committed <br /> <br /> <br />after a previous conviction under this ordinance shall be punished by a <br /> <br /> <br />fine not exceeding Six Hundred ($6oo.00} Dollars nor less than One Hundred <br /> <br />($lOO.OO} Dollars and by Lmprisonment in the County jail not exceeding <br /> <br />seven months nor less than one month. <br /> <br />~his ordinance shall take effect from and after midnight of <br />"prll ~Oth, 1912 <br /> <br />The above ordinance was passed by the affirmative vote of at <br />least three Trustees and is signed and approved this 29th day of April <br /> <br />1912. <br /> <br />H.
