ARCADIA CITY COUNCIL <br /> REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2019 <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER — Mayor Tay called the regular meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 2. INVOCATION — Mohammad AbdulAhad — Masjid Gibrael (Mosque of San Gabriel) <br /> 3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE — Gene Glasco, Elected City Clerk <br /> 4. ROLL CALL OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> PRESENT: Amundson, Beck, Chandler, Verlato, and Tay <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 5. REPORT FROM CITY ATTORNEY REGARDING CLOSED/STUDY SESSION ITEMS <br /> Mayor Tay announced there were no Closed or Study Session items on the agenda. <br /> 6. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM CITY MANAGER REGARDING AGENDA <br /> ITEMS <br /> City Manager Lazzaretto announced that the Historic Preservation Ordinance is scheduled for <br /> the February 19, 2019, City Council meeting, and encouraged those interested in historic <br /> preservation to attend; and he introduced Sam Hopwood a guest visiting from Sydney, Australia <br /> on an exchange program. <br /> 7. MOTION TO READ ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS BY TITLE ONLY AND <br /> WAIVE THE READING IN FULL <br /> A motion was made by Council Member Chandler and seconded by Council Member Amundson <br /> to read all ordinances and resolutions by title only and waive the reading in full. <br /> 8. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Mary Ann Lutz, former Mayor of the City of Monrovia and member of Healing Connections, <br /> provided a presentation regarding suicide prevention. <br /> Rodney Williamson, an Arcadia resident, appeared and requested that the February 19, 2019, <br /> City Council meeting regarding the historical preservation ordinance be placed on the City's <br /> website; and inquired about Agenda Item 7, Motion to read all ordinances and resolutions by <br /> title only. <br /> In response to Mr. Williamson's inquiry, City Attorney Deitsch indicated that the Government <br /> Code requires that all ordinances and resolutions be read in full. <br /> Also, in response to Mr. Williamson's comment, City Manager Lazzaretto indicated that the <br /> February 19, 2019, historical preservation meeting is on the City's website. <br /> 1 02-05-2019 <br />
