ARCADIA CITY COUNCIL <br /> REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, JUNE 5, 2018 <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER— Mayor Amundson called the regular meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 2. INVOCATION — Reverend Terry Keenan, Santa Anita Church <br /> 3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE — Lawrence Papp, Retired United States Navy <br /> 4. ROLL CALL OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> PRESENT: Beck, Chandler, Verlato, Tay, and Amundson <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 5. REPORT FROM CITY ATTORNEY REGARDING CLOSED SESSION ITEMS <br /> City Attorney Deitsch reported that prior to the regular meeting, the City Council met in Closed <br /> Session to consider the four (4) items listed on the posted agenda, and no reportable action was <br /> taken. <br /> 6. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM CITY MANAGER REGARDING AGENDA <br /> ITEMS <br /> City Manager Lazzaretto announced that there was no supplemental information. <br /> 7. MOTION TO READ ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS BY TITLE ONLY AND <br /> WAIVE THE READING IN FULL <br /> A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tern Tay, seconded by Council Member Chandler, to read all <br /> ordinances and resolutions by title only and waive the reading in full. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> City Manager Lazzaretto stated that last Friday, the City Council held a goal setting/team <br /> building workshop; that Mayor Amundson earlier indicated that he would like to move a portion <br /> of the City Council comments forward to allow the City Council to make comments relating to the <br /> goal setting/team building workshop. <br /> Mayor Pro Tern Tay thanked City Manager Lazzaretto for setting up the team building workshop; <br /> he indicated that during the team building session, the City Council was able to talk freely and <br /> communicate with each other, and he was able to understand what was upsetting his <br /> colleagues. He stated that, during the recent City Council election, he sent a mailer out that <br /> stated the City Council did not support his proposal regarding public safety; he indicated that the <br /> entire City Council supports public safety and wants to provide outstanding safety service for the <br /> residents and that he regrets his choice of words; he stated that moving forward he recognizes <br /> that facts matter, especially when his name is used, and looks forward to working with the entire <br /> City Council in years to come. <br /> 1 06-05-2018 <br />
