ARCADIA CITY COUNCIL <br /> REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, MARCH 20, 2018 <br /> CALL TO ORDER— Mayor Amundson called the meeting to order at 6:06 p.m. <br /> ROLL CALL OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> PRESENT: Beck, Chandler, Verlato, Tay, and Amundson <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS— No one appeared. <br /> STUDY SESSION <br /> a. Report, discussion, and direction regarding the Language Access Services Policy. <br /> City Manager Lazzaretto and Assistant to the City Manager Bruckner provided the City Council <br /> with a report. <br /> Council Member Beck requested additional surveys from the Cities of Monterey Park, Diamond <br /> Bar and Irvine. <br /> Council Member Verlato suggested using volunteers for translations when appropriate; and <br /> professional translation services when applicable. <br /> It was the consensus of the City Council that staff bring back to a future City Council meeting for <br /> adoption, a policy regarding Language Access Services. <br /> b. Discussion and direction concerning Arcadia's position in choosing between two <br /> options in LACCE's ("Los Angeles Community Choice Energy") dba Clean Power <br /> Alliance of Southern California in their negotiations with Southern California Edison <br /> for energy purchase and rates. <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Tay discussed with the City Council Arcadia's position in choosing between two <br /> options in LACCE's ("Los Angeles Community Choice Energy") dba Clean Power Alliance of <br /> Southern California in their negotiations with Southern California Edison for energy purchase <br /> and rates. <br /> It was the consensus of the City Council to follow staff's recommendation to work with SCE on a <br /> reasonable solution to SCE's Power Cost Indifference Charges and related pass through fees. <br /> The City Council recessed to Closed Session at 6:42 p.m. to consider the one item listed on the <br /> posted agenda under Closed Session. <br /> CLOSED SESSION <br /> a. Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.96 conference involving a Joint <br /> Powers Agency — Los Angeles Community Choice Energy Authority (dba) Clean <br /> Power Alliance of Southern California. <br /> 1 03-20-2018 <br />
