ARCADIA CITY COUNCIL <br /> REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, APRIL 3, 2018 <br /> CALL TO ORDER— Mayor Amundson called the regular meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> INVOCATION — Reverend Jolene Cadenbach, Arcadia Congregational Church <br /> PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE—Girl Scout Troop 1571 <br /> ROLL CALL OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> PRESENT: Beck, Chandler, Verlato, Tay, and Amundson <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM CITY MANAGER REGARDING AGENDA ITEMS <br /> City Manager Lazzaretto announced that there was no supplemental information <br /> MOTION TO READ ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS BY TITLE ONLY AND WAIVE <br /> THE READING IN FULL <br /> A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tern Tay and seconded by Council Member Chandler to read <br /> all ordinances and resolutions by title only and waive the reading in full. There being no <br /> objection, the motion was considered approved. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Gail Marshall, an Arcadia resident, appeared and discussed negative campaign materials being <br /> mailed out, particularly Mr. Chandler's mailers. <br /> Kirk Olsen, an Arcadia resident, appeared and stated that Mr. Beck displayed great class; he <br /> commented on a mailer endorsing Roger Chandler and negatively describing Ms. Wu and Ms. <br /> Platt, and asked Mr. Chandler to address the mailer. <br /> REPORTS FROM MAYOR, CITY COUNCIL AND CITY CLERK (including reports from the <br /> City Council related to meetings attended at City expense SAB 1234]). <br /> Council Member Beck expressed disappointment in campaign behavior and discussed a specific <br /> piece regarding crime rates; he asked Mayor Pro Tern Tay what he wanted to do to reduce <br /> crime; he discussed attacks on Jolly Wu and the need for more Asian-Americans to run for City <br /> Council; he announced that he attended the Maki Hsieh performance, the Chamber Installation <br /> Dinner on March 28, and the Silver Circle Dinner recognizing the City's volunteers on April 2; he <br /> encouraged residents to attend the Mayor's Breakfast on April 6; and announced that he and the <br /> Mayor would walk on April 7 at the Santa Anita Derby Day 5K event. <br /> Council Member Chandler stated he attended the Chamber of Commerce Installation Dinner, <br /> and the Silver Circle Dinner. <br /> 1 04-03-2018 <br />
