ARCADIA CITY COUNCIL <br /> REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2018 <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER— Mayor Tay called the regular meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 2. INVOCATION — Director of Religious Services, Riaz Khan — Masjid Jibrael (Mosque of <br /> San Gabriel) <br /> 3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE — Gene Glasco, Elected City Clerk <br /> 4. ROLL CALL OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> PRESENT: Amundson, Beck, Chandler, Verlato, and Tay <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 5. REPORT FROM CITY ATTORNEY REGARDING CLOSED/STUDY SESSION ITEMS <br /> Mayor Tay announced that the agendized Closed Session was cancelled. <br /> 6. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM CITY MANAGER REGARDING AGENDA <br /> ITEMS <br /> Assistant City Manager/Development Services Director Kruckeberg stated that there was no <br /> supplemental information. <br /> 7. MOTION TO READ ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS BY TITLE ONLY AND <br /> WAIVE THE READING IN FULL <br /> A motion was made by Council Member Chandler and seconded by Council Member Amundson <br /> to read all ordinances and resolutions by title only and waive the reading in full. <br /> 8. PRESENTATIONS <br /> a. Presentation of new Arcadia Tourism Video. <br /> 9. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Susan Guo, an Arcadia resident, appeared and indicated that the City of El Monte has received <br /> 11 applications for commercial cannabis cultivation and/or distribution, including one large <br /> operation near the Home Depot on Lower Azusa Road in El Monte; she explained that the City <br /> of El Monte Planning Commission has already approved one application, and the City of Temple <br /> City has hired the law firm of Burke, Williams & Sorenson to begin legal action against the City <br /> of El Monte for various environmental issues relating to the project; and she urged the City <br /> Council to take official legal action against the City of El Monte. She distributed a fact sheet to <br /> the City Council. <br /> 1 12-04-2018 <br />
